I love this so far! Very light, firm, perfect size, organic, and wipes clean (so awesome because you don't have to buy mattress protectors!). Those things are what stands out to me. So great for baby and me. :)
I agonized over a mattress for weeks, reading a million reviews and pricing them out. I am pretty sure I made the right decision. NO smell out of the box, really smooth and firm mattress that doesn't make noise when you depress it, fits in my Bassett crib well, and really really light and easy to maneuver. Now we'll see how the baby likes it and how it holds up.
Good quality and definitely appears waterproof. Support available. Can't believe the reviews that say there's no crunchy sound. Sounds like walking on dried leaves even with American Baby Company Quilted cover and sheet. For an infant of little weight and little movement would be ok but for a rustling toddler it was just too noisy. Returned it for that reason and got the highly rated Newton mattress. Amazon return easy as pie and quick refund. Thx Amazon.
Was excited about this mattress. Natural? 2-sided? Same brand as naturepedic but cheaper? Sounds great!!!
Unfortunately, the cons: - Hard on both sides. Even the soft side isn't as soft as the basic naturepedic coil mattress. And that mattress is single-sided. This Lullaby Earth mattress feels like a stiff over-inflated blow-up mattress (indeed, when you push down on it, it responds and moves like an over-inflated blow-up mattress, only it's not as soft). - Crinkles when you move on it (imagine a crinkly plastic waterproof cover --that's what it sounds like). - Rounded edges. We tried this in our toddler room since we wanted something more comfortable for the babies. He sleeps with a few toys. Toys will end up migrating and getting stuck because of the rounded edges. The Naturepedic mattress has a flat top and a seam that prevents this. - The rounded edges look bad too. You can see the metal crib platform the crib mattress is laying on. You can't with other, normal flat mattresses.
