I love that this is a clean product for my baby, unfortunately there is a problem with the design. I have a 9 month old who weighs 18.2lbs. We received this mattress April 1st. Already there is good dent the size of my son in the mattress where he sleeps and we have been using this mattress for about a 1.5 months. I was considering buying a mattress from Naturepedic but decided to go with this one since the companies had a connection and the mattress was a little cheaper. Now i wish i would have spent the extra money on a mattress that lasts. Sadly cannot recommend this product. :(
It says this mattress is "breathable" but really, it's waterproof, so my little guy is just sweaty after a night on this. We put a thick cotton towel over it (under the fitted sheet) and it's a little better. I got it because I was concerned about chemicals in the traditional mattresses, but I think I should have just gone with a non -waterproof mattress of any kind.
Infant side had large divot/crease in center of mattress. Returned product as defective with help of excellent Amazon customer service. Another note-the waterproof covering seems loud and uncomfortable. As a replacement, we bought Moonlight Slumber little dreamer dual firmness mattress which we have used and liked in past.
My daughter is now three years old and has been sleeping on this mattress from day one! I have not had any issues with sagging like other reviewers. We also use a canvas mattress cover so that may have helped to give stability. My sister in law is having a baby in the fall and I sent her a link to this mattress as we really love it. Would definitely buy again.
Before purchasing a crib mattress, I did extensive research on the materials being used, as that is very important to me. I decided to go with Lullaby Earth after researching for weeks because it was the best option I found. When it arrived in the mail, I was happy that there was no chemical smell or off-gassing odor. I didn't feel it was necessary to set it outside or anything. It fits perfectly in the crib, had no problems there. But now that my daughter is 5 months old, there is a noticeable indent where she sleeps. She only sleeps on it during nap time since she sleeps in our room at night and hasn't even slept on it for more than 2 hours at a time. I'm concerned about the safety of this product as a firm sleeping surface is so important for SIDS prevention (especially for my daughter who is now a tummy sleeper). I imagined for the price/quality of this mattress, I could use it for a second child as well. Not sure if I received a defective one? But I noticed a previous reviewer with the same concern.
We purchased two of these and have had no problem. Baby sleeps well on the mattress. This was a $$ splurge for us, but we'll worth knowing that plastic toxin fumea are not flowing into our children's lungs. This is a great alternative to the very expensive organic mattresses at $300, $400, and $500. Also the extreme light weight mattress is very easy for sheet changes.
