Tool trucks only seem to sell Lisle and Blitz pans, which are thinner and less durable. Buy this pan with confidence because it will last you a very long time if you take care of it properly
This doesn’t flex when I pick it up full of 3 gallons diesel oil. It is strong. The wire handle, eh... ok I guess, to each their own.
The quality of construction on this one, I think it’s a lifetime product. I’m satisfied and believe it’s well worth the price.
And speaking of that spout... a tethered cap is one of those things that looks great on paper. In the real world, it has to either be removed or held aside or it flops in front of whatever you're pouring out, and makes a splattered mess. Just one more thing that makes pouring unnecessarily awkward.
I have tried the other two main types of oil pans before this one and this one is so much better with such small changes.
Actually having a pour spout is so much better than the simple bowl-shaped ones and the pour spout being round (not rectangular) and actually able to fit back into most oil jugs means you don't need a funnel either!
The wire handle is perfect for keeping your hands clean when pouring it back into the jugs, but it also helps give you a nice handle to move it around with and hang it up by.
Height is perfect too - just barely fits under my Mazda 3
only had a 4-5 quart capacity. I have a C7 Grand Sport (GS) whose oil capacity is about 10 quarts.
I bought this one because it had a large enough capacity to change the oil in my GS. I love the handle
to pull it out, and the construction allows you to empty it in to the old oil jugs with out spilling it. Also,
I always stand the oil drain pan in an old oil jug to get almost every drop of oil out of the pan. The old
dish pan would always tip over and spill oil; this one is design so it will stay in place.
