There is only ONE jeweler or watch repairman IN THE WORLD that is certified to work on your Luminox (that is ANY Luminox) and that is Saltzmans Watches of Rhode Island. This is due to the fact that Luminox watches use tritium. What this means to you is that the sky is the limit when it comes to cost of repairs (competition is a good thing). Also, Saltzman will not provide an over-the-phone estimate, so if your watch has problems your choices are a) trash the watch or b) send your watch to Saltzman having no idea how much it will cost you to repair and wait. Trying to get any information from Saltzman over the phone seems to insult them and they are pretty rude. They won't even tell you what the average cost is for a standard service like replacing a battery or mineral crystal. To me that seems sketchy in itself. If they are the only jeweler to repair Luminox watches they should have it down to a science as to how much it costs to replace standard items. But they refuse to offer a quote over the phone, so you have no choice but to wait until you have sent it in, and they have charged you just to look at it. Only then they will give you a quote.
In the 3 years I have owned the watch the mineral crystal has shattered due to impact twice.Read more ›
I am convinced that you cannot find a better tactical watch for the price. And speaking of price, thank you Amazon! Not only did you have a great selection to choose from but nobody on the internet can even get close to your prices. I am recommending this watch to all of my friends and family.
I have an 8400 series watch from luminox and like it .this watch is made with a light weight polymer and it seems like half the weight with the same style face. I recommend it for someone who wants a big watch without the weight.
The Luminox is my new de facto watch. I swam it around for a couple of hours to make sure it was watertight, and no problem. The band is comfortable and light on the wrist. I'll update later regarding toughness if it has issues, although, I've already whacked it hard a few times. I've been wearing it 24/7 since its arrival and was expecting to give it a rest last night, however, I put it back on after considering the change. It's like skinny watching....feels like you have nothing on.
Amazon delivered the watch within 4 days even though they specify 5-8 business days. I called the "service line" before purchasing to make sure they were for real and I spoke with a live body that was very helpful with the couple of questions I had.
I expect those that experienced problems with water tightness (with alternate Luminox 200 Mtr models) didn't punch the crown in adequately. More people take time to write of problems with products than those who are pleased. Please take that into consideration as the reviews are so strong in advocacy of this watch. My friend works for National Grid "in the trenches". He wears the original "Navy Seal" watch every day and it is still ticking away after six years.
Another watch to consider at/near this price point is the Seiko orange or black "Monsters". The lume is their proprietary "Lumibrite", which I understand glows for several hours with a minimum light charge.Read more ›

Keeps breaking, Luminox refused to support the product. The pin that needs to be pulled out to change the time on the watch is VERY hard to pull out. It also keeps breaking. Read morePublished 17 months ago by BillR.OC
