ON THE PLUS SIDE: It's solid spruce and maple and it actually has a good woody tone. The wood itself seems consistent and has straight grain. The neck profile and feel are good. It's frets are straight and and it adjusts down to reasonably low action.
CONCLUSION: It has required a fair amount of time to set it up. If you are handy with stringed instruments and know how to do it you can get it into good operation. Assuming it holds up and doesn't fail somewhere I think it will break in well and develop a richer sound. By shopping hard you can get it for half the asking price or less like I did. Then it's worth trying, but I would NOT pay full price.
