I bought this bento box a few months back when I got really enthusiastic about packing my own lunches (I always pack, but got more invested in the process). I love to eat a small amount of a variety of foods, so a bento box with several sections works perfect for me.
I think I will echo what many others have said in their reviews: the quality is great. Since it is stainless steel, it is sturdy without being too heavy and will last (I predict) for many, many years of lunches. It is easy to clean (just use a brush or sponge to get into the corners) and remains clean and tidy no matter what you put in it. The lid and sections are not leak proof, but they are not designed to be, so just don't put anything too saucy in here and/or don't slosh it around on your commute and you will be fine. I use this box for fruits, vegetables, and sometimes dryer foods like grilled meat, cheese and deli meats, or a salad (dressing on the side). One thing that did surprise me and kind of throw me for a loop is that if I travel with an ice pack, condensation accumulates on the lid and drips down, so even if you use baking cups, things will be damp (aka no cheese and crackers or I'll get soggy crackers). Not a big deal, though.
I gave it 4 stars for two relatively small reasons. The depth of the bento is juuuust shorter than crackers or two layers of grapes (very specific haha). I could do with just 2 millimeters more in height. My second complaint/suggestion is slightly bigger: I wish the dividers were removable/customizable. There are times when the two larger sections are still kind of small, like if I wanted to pack a whole sandwich, or sometimes I want just 2 big sections without the little ones. The theory I guess is that you buy the other layouts that Lunchbots has, but the lunch boxes aren't cheap enough to buy multiple of, and even if they were, they're not stackable inside each other so they take up a lot of space in the cabinet. Even with the dividers being attached to the box, liquid and crumbs can still pass between each section, so you can't even get that benefit. It would be better to clean if the dividers were removable, too.
Either way, I love to use my bento box when I'm packing a lunch with lots of little bites. The quality is great and I imagine I will be using this box for the rest of my life :). I'm interested in purchasing some of the leak proof containers to go into my lunch bot, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
