Long Grain Brown Rice, Sweet Brown Rice, Wild Rice, Red Rice, Black Rice.

Directions

1 cup Lundberg Wild Blend 2 cups water or bouillon 1 tbsp butter or margarine Salt to taste Rinse rice. Put all ingredients in pot with tight-fitting lid. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes. Do not remove lid. Remove from heat and allow to sit covered for 10 minutes. Serves 4 to 6. A rice cooker may be used with the same rice-to-water ratio.

I initially purchased this rice after I was informed that this brand has less heavy metals in its rice than other brands. I love that about this rice, but I also love the flavor and texture of this rice. It tastes a bit different than most rice I have bought in the past, but in a good way. The rice needs less water to cook than a traditional rice as well. This bag went fast and it is too bad that it is currently unavailable. I am ready to re-purchase.

Makes a mess in my rice cooker.

Whenever I make this rice, and I have used a small rice cooker for almost 50 years, it always bubbles over and makes a mess.
I figured out a way to fix that by folding up a paper towel and putting it around the edges, so it catches the mess; however, it’s more work than I usually have to do with other rices or grains.
This is my favorite brand as it has the least amount of arsenic out of any other rices on the market.
I like the rice’s flavor and texture a lot, I just wish it didn’t make such a mess.

Love the flavor & the black rice appearance looks so interesting-like caviar! If you use a rice cooker, add a bit more water than the minimum. It tends to be a little sticky with the usual water amount. I tried it with a little butter & plain-I’m happy with it plain as it has tons more flavor than white or brown rice.

I bought a few times of this organic rice in SMALL package from supermarket and I like it.
This BIG package is NOT as good as I expected.
Compared to the small packages, the colour is DARKER and not crystal, the smell is a little bit ODD before cooking, and after cooking, it does not
have the aroma that the fresh sushi rice should have. According to my knowledge and experience, the rice is not stored in a proper way or condition.
