In the second installment of the Butterfly Girls series we get to know Amaya, the salty sea captain of the charter boat Homeward Bound. She’s a capable sailor but seems to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder, especially when it comes to allowing herself to get closer to the opposite sex. Much like her friend Paige, whom we met in the first book, Amaya uses the near constant ebb and flow of male tourists to meet her needs, should the need arise. But when the quirky, geeky, yet hot as all get out Calvin steps aboard, all bets are off. Immediately the two are drawn together and they’ve barely shoved off from the pier before they’re on one another.
Amaya is unlike any woman Calvin has met. She’s definitely salty, and isn’t willing to put up with much from him. He can’t help though to find her attractive, and when the two hook-up, it quickly becomes obvious that there are feelings between the two of them that go beyond simply sex. Yet what is Amaya hiding in her past that keeps her from moving on to her future? Will she ever be able to let go and find love once again, especially with someone that has come to the island temporarily?
Luring Romeo is another fun, steamy story of love despite the odds. Amaya has a history that keeps her from wanting to get close to another man for fear of losing him, and Calvin, seeing the happiness his friend Drake has found with his own Butterfly Girl Paige, is willing to take the risk to make Amaya his. The story itself is sweet and the attraction between the two is palpable, making for some hot, hot love scenes.
Luring Romeo is well written and the characters are fun. The story is a little predictable and very similar to the first book in the series, but it is an entertaining read nonetheless. This is a very quick book and would be great when sitting by the pool or while on vacation. It’s lighthearted and fun, a lot like the Butterfly Girls of Quaylo Island.
