A Lush Betrayal is a MUST read. It is a story that completely consumed me. One that had me questioning my own beliefs. Heather, The REAL Housewives of Romance
Selena Laurence does it yet again! She has a wayof pulling you into her story and she doesn't let go until she's done. She does such an amazing job connecting you to the characters, that youforget that they aren't real live people. Michele, Devilishly Delicious Book Reviews

Selena Laurence delivered a novel that not only holds enough appeal to makeyou read in a single day, but makes you love and hate the characters
that hold more than few terrible secrets. Patrycja, Smokin Hot Book Blog

Joss Jamison is the smouldering hot, lead singer of Lush. A rock band on the their way to the very top. He is offered everything and generally takes it, with little thought of repercussions. It's exactly this problem that has made his life turn upside down. After 1 mistake that should never have happened he is living with the guilt every second of every day. Lush is off on tour over summer and in comes Mel, she's there to document the tour through photographs and their life behind the scenes. She's the sister of Tammy, the drummer Walsh's fiancée. Mel is gorgeous and spirited, and like a breath of 'fresh air' to Joss. He knows he wants her and has to have her. She is making him crazy. Yet, who she is...Is a problem in so many ways. A fresh stab of guilt and pain but at the same time new feelings for Mel.
To start with I thought this is going to be an easy breezy read. It absolutely was. Smooth and great pace. I loved the setting of the rock band on tour, another bad boy to drool over. Yet beneath all that, lies a tangled web of emotion and secrets all swirling around waiting to eat people up and come out and cause chaos. When things got good, I just knew it was coming, the 's*** was going to hit the fan'.
So about 3/4's of the way through, things start to change. One of the party involved in all the mess ends up in a nasty situation and by then I must admit I was already chewing my nails, holding my breath, AND holding back the floodgates. It was quite hard work! From there on everything tumbles down, a perfect wall crumbling down on top of itself. Nobody is spared in the mess, everyone is left hurt and wounded. I was left blubbing!

My heart breaks for Joss, Mel, Tammy & Walsh, but in a good way, because it was rough at first but they will get over this. This book actually shows the real rock star day to day inner workings. It is also about music as art and life. I also am very impressed with Joss. He made up his mind about Mel, and he started wooing her. He did not cheat on her, this is phenomenal to me in a rock music book. Yes there are groupies and after parties etc., but Joss has his eyes and heart only on Mel.

The angst when it came, we know it will come. We suffered right along with them. They got their HEA though, with a lot of deep understanding between them. Even though I know Selena Laurence will want to write about other members of the band, I hope we get to hear more about Mel and Joss. I am kind of in love with these two. Fabulous story.

Selena Laurence has done it again! I can honestly count with one hand the authors of whom I’ve read all of their books and Ms. Laurence is one of them. Her uncanny ability to draw you into her stories and captivate the reader with troubled characters seeking redemption is quite impressive. Whether they’re flawed war veterans or brooding rock stars, once you read one of her tales, you’ll be a fan for good.

What could possibly be better than a delicious tatted up cliché rock star with the voice of an angel? A brooding, smokin’ hot, non-man-whore tatted up cliché rock star with a good head on his shoulders. Meet Joss Jamison, lead singer and jack of all trades of the kind of a big deal rock band, Lush. While the band is made up of four extremely talented men, Joss, Walsh, Mike and Colin; Joss is the responsible one that took the time to learn the ropes in all aspects concerning their music career. His long time best friend and drummer, Walsh (recovering alcoholic) is too busy being wrapped up in his happily ever after with fiancé and band assistant Tammy DiLorenzo. Mike is blissful enjoying the pleasurable perks that come with being in a successful rock band and Colin is usually lost in another world thanks to his love of greenery. Tammy is the fierce beautiful girl in charge of keeping the boys fed and in line. Dave Keller is the band’s manager and in charge of taking his most prolific clients all the way to mega stardom. They’ve already created an enthusiastic fandom but he knows they have a long way to go in order to join the ranks of Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys instead of opening up for them.

The premise of this story was good. It had all the things that I love in a book; the tortured, self-loathing rock star, well written melodrama, plenty of inner conflict and a complicated love story that battles the odds. I could understand the struggles and conflict within all of these characters, yet I just didn’t quite connect to any of them. I wanted the happily ever after, but at the same time, I wasn’t exactly rooting for any of these people.

Here are some things that bothered me about this book. ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

1) This didn’t strike me as a true rock star romance. Sure, they were living out of tour buses and motels and there were some crazy screaming groupies mentioned here and there, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe it’s because Joss wasn’t feeling it either. At the point this story started, he was just rising to fame, yet had already lost his passion to reach that next level. I’m not sure if that’s why the author decided to gloss over the details of their concerts, but we got no insight into Joss’ thoughts as he stood on that stage, aside from his one freakout that had nothing to do with the music. I want to feel the adrenaline of being a rock star! Even if he was so apathetic that he was just going through the motions, I would have loved to hear Joss’ thoughts as he stared out across the sea of people in audience or the emotion he poured into the vocals of the songs that were so personal to him. I would have loved to hear him reminisce about the passion that used to drive him compared to the emptiness that was slowly consuming him.
2) The name Joss. For half the book, I thought it was J-AH-SS, which reminds me of the the name Jocelyn and sounded so feminine to me.
