I am a therapist and sit all day seeing patients, then sit for hours doing paperwork. It was taking its toll. At first I thought this chair was way too small, even though I am only 5'1" (almost). However, as other reviewers have mentioned, for the first week I was able to inflate it a little more each day as it stretched to accomodate more air, and now I am really happy with the height which is a little higher than my office chair, actually perfect. I use this more for sitting at my desk than I do for sitting with patients, but already I think it has helped my lower back pain significantly. I feel I am strengthening my core and yet it is comforable. It was simple to put together, even for me! (Although my neighbor used a rubber mallet to get the back to be pushed sufficiently into the frame, thank you to the reviewer who suggested this trick). The quality is better than I expected. I really love this chair and I think it is a great value at this price.

This chair is great, comfortable and causes you to sit up straight better than any other chair I've used. This chair encourages better body mechanics while sitting to desk than high end 'ergo' chairs that cost hundreds and hundreds more. Don't waist your money on those over priced executive chairs that are more about looks and showing how much money you can waste on a single product that doesn't work as well as this one does.

My only tip would be to purchase some kind of beaded pad, or cloth pad or something to put on top of the ball. The ball itself is plenty comfortable, you don't need any extra cushion, but sitting directly on the plastic tends to cause the pants to pull on the skin and hair and can be quite uncomfortable after a long day. And if it is at all warm or you sit down with your skin or cloths damp from sweat your rump will never dry off. I got a cheap car seat strap on bead 'cushion' off of amazon that works great to create a air gap between the rear and the ball, no more sweaty butt. And it prevents the plastic from pulling on the skin as well as you sit down.

I love this chair. I have been a teacher for 27 years. I was in a car accident a few years ago and have had back and hip pain ever since. I teach Special Education so I sit with kids a lot and I always sit and stand many times during the day. Traditional chairs made my back hurt so bad. I heard from another teacher that a chair like this forces you to sit straight and takes the pressure off the lower back and hips. I researched many before buying this one. I am so happy I did. Ordered this to replace our other regular 4 leg chair that we had been using at the computer desk, in the search for better lumbar support and for my legs to be more comfortable while working long hours at the computer. Already had a large excercise ball that I tried using prior to ordering this chair but with it rolling around everywhere it put pressure on my legs and circulation and made it uncomfortable to sit on for extended periods. So this ball chair seemed like a great solution and happy medium to my needs. This chair became a big hit in the household. They looked at it strangely while I was assembling it, now everyone wants their own. I ordered the extenders with it but didnt need it afterall. It looks short at first but works well aligning everyones legs in a household where the average height is 5'5 and our computer desk is a standard height. Everyone is more comfortable on the chair, especially me who often has to work there for hours. 1 star off for the instructions not being clear enough. Getting the wheels in is not as easy as they make it seem. Instructions say no tools needed, but a hammer does come in handy to get in those wheels because it was such a tight fit, it is not easily apparent that they are able to go straight in, I thought I had to screw it in or that I was missing parts or something. Also they dont tell you that the 2 wheels with the extra little pedal thing should go on the 2 back legs, which thankfully I caught from reading other reviews. Though, im not sure how these are meant to work because these 2 wheels dont roll like the front ones and the pedal does not move either, so there is no locking or rolling or any functionality to the wheels with the pedals and actually these just makes the chair a little harder to move. Again, clearer instructions or some online information resource would be very helpful here to see how they intend these to be used because they work nothing like regular wheel locks.

What a difference 24 hours can make! When I first assembled my chair I was less than impressed. The base was plenty of sturdy but the ball seemed too small. I was going to return it but then I learned that I couldn't. I was looking over the instructions one last time, looking to see what the width of the ball is, thinking I would buy a larger ball because the base is really very nice. It was on this read through that I saw it noted that if the ball seems undersized then to wait 24 to 48 hours for the ball to relax while inflated, then try putting more air in. I did this and now I am sitting on a really comfy ball chair!

I would like to note that one problem I have had for years is having a chair that is comfortable for my body but tall enough for me to work at my desk. I am 5'8" yet this has still been a struggle with my home studio furniture. Today it hit me, I love this chair but I don't like my desk so today I went to IKEA and bought the BEKANT Sit/Stand desk. The desk can be raised or lowered as needed and goes as low as 22 inches. That desk and this chair are the perfect pairing for me!

Sometimes it isn't just the chair that needs to change but the desk too.
