Editorial Reviews

A compelling cocktail of madness and derangement
that mixes a Horror aesthetic with a Noir mood. Mark
& Caleb fight for sanity after their Mother's death. As
Past becomes Present and Memory becomes Reality,
we spiral through a window staring inside, ...a disturbed
mind.

I have seen some short films and a this movie done by Joaquin,it may not have a huge hollywood style to it.But the story is well writen, directed and he seems to pick just the right actors to get across the story the way he invisioned it.He has a unique way of getting to the truth of things and it shows in the way he sets his films up and that he isnt afraid to push the limits to get his vision to the person watching. What he has done is taken issues that are not mainstream and tells them in a way that draws you in.The actors, story, and the simple way of shooting that movie, makes MOBIUS just another worth watcing movie. Its not for everyone but, but everyone can take a little someting away from it.

MOBIUS was suggested to me by a friend. Despite my protests of not liking "Horror" movies, I was pleasantly surprised. Mobius is not a "Horror" movie. Sure, there's blood and gore ... but it's not necessarily gratuitous. This isn't a big budget movie and it shows. However, despite it's meager production, there is something to be said for creative story telling. This isn't a movie that will take you on a ride, but it will certainly lead you to think about perceptions of reality. The director uses lots of visual imagery. And not just symbolism. His use of color filters gives a great feel for the time. This is one of those movies to which attention should be paid; there is much more going on than what might be seen at first viewing.
I'm not a critic. But, I actually enjoyed the view into a psychologically corrupt mind and the spiritual reconstruction; it was a great metamorphosis for both characters. This is the kind of movie where the director sneaks in subtle nuances that give the movie as a whole great depth. Unfortunately, this might not be obvious to those looking for a typical Hollywood production.
