I just received my M-discs. I have burned 5discs so far using LG Super Multi Blue Slim Portable with 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback and M-DISC Support BP40NS20 and my Macbook Pro 2011 without any issues.
I have verified the data using a separate Windows PC and am satisfied that there will be no issues. My main use is for archiving photographs that I do not want to lose.
With that said, the only issue I have found so far (and the reason for 4 stars) is that the M-discs are ~0.07 millimeters thicker than normal DVD media. These discs will not load into the slot loading drive of my Macbook. This is the device I primarily use for photo editing. If I need to pull pictures off any M-disc, I have to hookup an external DVD drive. This is not too big of an issue since these discs will be the backup archive that I shouldn't have to use too often. I will continue to use these discs to ensure I never lose any photos.

Disks arrived and are formatted, ready to go. One was faulty, the balance worked fine. A slow process at 4.2gig's. I would like the company to make these so as to be written on both sides or to hold more gigs per disk. Looking forward to seeing my images and information clearly 20+ years from now. 50 disks is a good price over buying 25 and you'll want more disks anyway.

We used these to burn copies of a family history book, and some personal journals. Zero issues with 35 copies so we are very pleased. It would be nice if there was a way to label the DVD, perhaps in the non-data area near the center.

16 Aug 2015 update:
I wanted to update this after using the blu-ray discs to store photographs. So far out of a pack of 15 I've thrown 5 in the garbage because they report that they have no space available when put in the drive or they fail during verification or they fail after three quarters of the disc is written. After spending most of two afternoons and evenings trying to get a hundred gigabytes of photos saved I am very disappointed.

At the present, this is the best bet for long term storage, I have had hard drives, thumb drives, cd/dvds fail in a short period. My first burn, I put dvd video on a disc to test in several dvd players. They all worked fine. I plan on putting all photos and music on these and take copy to office, that way if someone breaks in, or there is a fire, I will still have my files.

Well packaged and arrived promptly. But whether or not they will last 1,000 years is yet to be determined and certainly not in my lifetime. Still, preservation of family history is important to me and this disc offers the best chance of the data surviving into the future.... short of a book.
