Why this book?
“Supply chain management” includes a broad range of activities required to plan, control and execute a product's flow, from acquiring raw materials and production through distribution to the final customer, in the most streamlined and cost-effective way possible.
Most of the articles have been written from the experiences and challenges when embarking on the path of supply chain management. This e-book is on some important Supply Chain issues such as Information, Sourcing, Transportation, Pricing, Facilities, and Inventory etc.
The articles are worded in simple English so as to be easily understandable and helpful for supply chain management related activities.
Students, professionals, and enthusiasts would benefit from this reference book. If you get some of the Supply Chain related topics, which are necessary in our supply chain management journey, will feel that my endeavor is fruitful. Thanks to the person who helped me with proof reading.
Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are related with Sourcing issues. While Chapter 3 is related with Supply Chain transportation, facilities, inventory etc. as Supply Chain Security is a widely discussed point for Inventory and facilities. Chapter 4 discussed about logistics with an instance from Apparel Supply Chain. Chapter 5 discuss on core Supply Chain drivers from an academic point of view.
