I took the heel pad off, as I prefer to have my hand touching the desk pad, but I could see where some people would find it useful. With the weights installed it never leaves the desk pad, no matter how aggressively I push it around, and I find it perfect for both gaming and office productivity. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any buttons on the right side, but I got over that rather quickly. Keep in mind that I'm not an 'avid gamer' and that I've never used a 'high end' gaming mouse, so I can't compare this to any of those. But this mouse if FAR better than any standard mouse and for the money I think it can't be beat. If you are an avid gamer, this may not be the mouse for you; there are no buttons on the right side, and the regular right and left 'mouse click' buttons, as well as the DPI button, are included in the "nine programmable buttons" figure.
The software is wonderful, as it allows for multiple setups that you can name and change around at any time. The manual was written by someone for which English is not a native language, so figuring out the software, for the sake of setting up multiple user profiles, was a bit tricky at first due to confusing instructions, but it doesn't take long to figure out regardless. Keep in mind this mouse is configured to be used by your right hand, and is not ambidextrous.
I gave this mouse five stars because for the money I think it's phenomenal. Again, it isn't a high-end gaming mouse, but neither is it priced like one. It is FAR better than any standard mouse, both ergonomically and functionally. I am VERY pleased with this mouse.
Edit: I am revising my earlier review. While I was happy allreli warrantied the defective one, they have been bugging me non-stop to change my view to a positive one. So now I have lowered it from 2 star to one, and would like to amend the fact that I think not only the product, but also the company is cheap junk, and will never be buying from them again.
The ergonomics are great--if the scroll wheel were better and the software didn't crash, this would be a five-star mouse.
Unfortunately, the left and right click buttons require too much force to actuate, taking the 'ergonomic' out of the mouse. The further away from the edge of the button that you click, the more force is required. That will impact those with small hands the most.
If you do have RSI type issues, this is not the mouse for you...
FWIW, the build quality seems nice. The mouse is reasonably lightweight at 113g without the weights and palm support. The wheel is nicely notched.
When I first started using it, it was very uncomfortable. I actually had a generic Microsoft mouse connected along with it for the transition. Your mileage may vary. You may never feel discomfort. For me I did and it went away. Now it's more comfortable to use this mouse than a regular one or even the ergonomic mouse I had before it.
I bought this to get away from wireless. Wired, I think, is better. No lag. Very sensitive. Being able to adjust the resolution on the mouse itself has turned out to be pretty handy in a three monitor setup, and is great in photoshop if you're not wanting to use a Wacom or trackball. Easy to program.
