We all use one or more knives in the kitchen . A solid good chefs knife is pretty much a “ must “ for everyone who loves to cook . A paring knife and a few others owned by everyone . But is carving knife a “need “ ? Maybe not again for “ everyone “ . But it is a good thing to have . Especially if it is nicely priced and sharp . It doesn’t need to be expensive also .I got this knife just out of curiosity . It looks really nice on the pics and I bought a few of these over the years with a cheap price tag . Guess what almost all of them are useless . And if you don’t know how to sharpen a knife with this scale , and if it is not very sharp when you buy ( which most of them are ) , will be another item goes back in the drawer .Well , not this one . As I said , it is a beautiful knife . The handle is made out of wood , a good one . The blade has a nice quality . With the grooves , which helps for easy release whatever you cut or slice .Carving a bird with this was and is a pleasure . Finally a knife does the job . Not just the bird or large size roasts , I find it very useful when I make my own lox at home . You know you want to slice the fish very thinly and a knife with this size , believe it or not , is kinda must . Cuts like a butter . But with all that being said , it is not super super sharp . Let’s say sharp enough . If you get those rolling knife sharpeners , which I do have one of those , you have a good investment for many many years . I prefer to hand wash my knives and dry them asap . In the end it has real wood handle . The blade does not get rusty , but again I dry them quickly .So in conclusion , I love this knife and enjoy using it . I will recommend it to who wants something like this . It is a good investment .
Bought this knife specifically for carving better cuts of beef (Brisket and Beef Rib). Very sharp, and seem to hold an edge very well. Well worth the price.
Its nice. Cuts well, feels good in hand. Only thing that kind of puts me off is that it's very light. Don't feel sturdy enough. I would feel uncomfortable trying to cut a water melon with this. Just my opinion.
I'm a chef and I've got tons of knives and knives sets one I even paid 2000 for. This knife is great. Its balanced its quality and I'm mad at myself for being dumb enough to buy a "name brand" knife set which isn't honestly up to par with this knife. Wish they had a knife set I'd buy it.
This knife is sharp, easy to hold, designed for slicing brisket and other meats. It is awesome for thin a slicing. Slice a tomatoes so thin you can read a paper thru it. Not sure anyone would want to, but hey!
We found the knife to be both excellent and very lightweight. The one thing I do feel the manufacturer should add to its products, is a case so they can be put into the kitchen drawer and people can get at them without fear of cutting themselves.
