I grew up a 60s kid and loved the Munsters and Car 54. I have always felt that the chemistry between Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis was so rare and special, and I have fond memories of their work, and of having met Fred around 1990. Regrettably, I never met Al Lewis, and I read this book hoping to get more insight into the man behind the Munster. I was not disappointed, and found the book to be beyond my highest expectations. Karen Lewis is a very gifted and talented writer, and her incredible writing style and format works so well in this wonderful memoir of her life with Al Lewis. This is a pleasurable read from start to finish.
Karen's work is a very moving tribute to a remarkable man, who so many have loved and called "Grandpa."
Nope, they worked at it.
