I'll cut to the chase here since if you're looking, I'm guessing you know about CPU coolers. The fan on this thing is, at BEST, loud. At worst... just keep reading.

I've had mine for a while. I do a decent dust patrol inside and outside my case about every 2 months to keep my fans clear and my rig quiet. After a year or so, the fan on this thing just abruptly went. And it didn't just die, it had a death rattle. An ongoing death rattle at that frequency that hits you just behind the ears and makes you nauseous. It was LOUD, like a room full of crickets. And as you can see from the pics, the fan is INSIDE the heat sink, sealed in at the factory with a locking contraption that makes the puzzle cube from Hellraiser look like a baby's toy.

It wasn't clogged or even dirty but I used a full can of compressed air trying to clean it out anyway, to no effect. I repositioned the unit clockwise, counterclockwise. It wouldnt stop. I was forced to pull the fan power and use a spare fan fastened to the outside of the heatsink until my replacement arrived. Afterwards I discovered that the company stamped on the fan itself is a brand notorious for motors that vibrate violently when the fan starts to go. Until then it does a decent enough job, but be aware that this thing has a time limit.

even with 80 degree plus weather my intel q6600 quad core still sits around 27C-28C with minor multitasking. I usaully don't see it go near 50C

taking the fan out to clean it is a bit of pain if you have a small case.

I bought this to cool a Core i5 3570K, and it keeps the temperatures around 37c. Than 92mm Fan, though, is annoying. It has a high pitched whine that just doesn't go away. I'm replacing the fan as soon as I can with something a little more silent.

Mounting was easy and painless, and the retention bracket on the back really gives it a solid support. The unit is also really compact and doesn't cause any issues with blocking RAM slots. It's definitely a great inexpensive little cooler.

Lowered my temp from 45C (idle) to 30C and from 65C (load) to 48-50C, so it does its job very well. Also, it is small enough to fit in smaller cases as the heatsink isnt as large as other fans that have a similar effect on temps.
Only concern is that it is rather loud, I have gotten used to it now but I can hear this fan humming along even when I leave the room.
Would be a great if it was more silent but technically it does its main job very well so still a good product
