I have used Maxell DVD+R dvd's before. They would work for verified data about 90% of the time. The first few discs off the top failed and looked defective with spots on the recording surface. I trashed the poor looking ones, but still couldn't get verified recording off of any of the next 5 or so. I won't bother with returning them but I will be reluctant to trust in Maxell again.

I've always had good luck with Maxell DVD media. This time what I received was something titled MaxData Maxell DVD+r's and so far over half of what I have tried to use has failed in both stand-alone DVD recorders and on my PC's. Absolute junk.

I do video recording at church. I have used 20 different brands with very few problems recording on a SANYO DVD recorder. I have tried Maxell twice now and have to say, they are the worse quality DVD I have ever used. Out of a pack of 25, 12 would not record and got a disc error in the DVD recorder. I also had a pack of 15 that I had to go through 3 DVDs before one would record. Saved to ones that would not record to use on computer recording. After using them on the computer to copy videos. Two of the three I burned on the computer were unreadable.

Contacted Maxell months ago and they emailed me back and stated if I mailed the bad ones back they would replace them. Okay, let me see, pay $10 to ship 10 DVDs back to Maxell when I can buy 50 pack of another brand for $11 that works everytime.

I have a Lite On LVW-5001 DVD Recorder and I've found Maxell DVD+R or RW disk work the best. I like the 4X speed better because you can record up to 6 hours but the 8X disk will only record 4 hours without skips. My Lite On will record up to 8X speed and only + NOT - DVD's so make sure you obtain the right disks. Some brands still don't work even if you get the right type. I have had some problems with Memorex but I couldn't get Ridata to record at all, I hope this info will help you make a wise selection.(...)

Not a lot to say here, the disks burned perfectly at max speed every time. Every disk burned has worked on every machine I've used them with aside from one dvd player that was one of the first generation type. And honestly that was no surprise.

Price wasn't bad, shipping was quick, and packaging was good. They're worth it.

I have been using this brand and type of DVD for burning for many years. In truth, they are the only DVD I have never had any trouble with--no coasters.

This order arrived in perfect condition. No spindle broken, etc. which some reviewers complained about.

Hard to believe that the manufacturer is discontinuing them since they really are a great product.

This is the most reliable brand out there that I have come accross. Out of my last 50 disk spindle, NOT ONE was a dud. No burn errors at all. To the dude saying he gets a bunch of DVD burn

errors, that's something wrong with your setup. If you have a USB DVD burner make sure it is connected to a 2.0 USB and not a 1.0 port. That will cause a lot of burn errors.

This brand of DVD+r recording material is and has always been a true favorite of mine. I've found with other brands of blank DVD media there is always at least one dud (a band DVD-cd) within the spindle. This product always has been reliable and I would certainly recommend to any one. Personally, DVD+rs are far more superior to DVD-rs. Most because they can be played in both a computer and a regular DVD player. DVD-rs never seem to make the par. In short, I couldn't be happier. I will definitely stick with this brand of blank DVD medium. That is unless they come up with something better to replace it!
