If you are framing only a photo or poster, it's probably OK, but if you're trying to frame something in one or two mount boards, it's way too thin to fit that kind of stuff. The frame is basically 4 edges that slide on or off of plexiglass that sandwiches the image against a back board. Overall this didn't work for what I was intending to frame, but it might work for other artwork. It's definitely the cheapest frame I've ever bought and next time I'll pay more for one that is designed to fit mounting boards.
Amazon is normally my go-to since I have prime. I really didn't think I'd have better luck getting frames this size, cheaper anywhere else.
I was wrong.
These frames are for "posters" I didn't have a problem with putting the picture in and then "sliding" the black pieces on each side but it was rather annoying. Everything is made of plastic besides the cardboard back. The sides don't line up perfectly but I made it work. I bought these frames for 16x20 professional prints of my son. I had 5 prints and wasn't trying to rob my wallet so I thought these were decent to at least try. I ordered one, they sent me 2. I didn't complain. They were very well packaged and there was no way they could've been damaged. Just not a great product. Like I said above, i would suggest ordering the frames from Walmart. You get 3 GLASS frames that easily unsnap out of the back frame for like $25. A steal compared to this frame. (Regarding quality & price) I would order all of your larger frames from Walmart personally if you have multiple pictures to frame that are above a 4x6 or is a weird size like 4x4 or 8x8. The glass over the picture definitely makes the picture look a lot better hanging on your wall.
So, in lieu of the more expensive frames, this is the one I chose. At first glance the frame itself looks nice, under a closer inspection I found that some of the snap on sides were cut just a hair short, so the white background of the photo could clearly be seen in the corners where the edges fall short of meeting.
In addition to the edges not meeting, I can completely see where the edges were cut. By that I mean that the way the edges were cut you can see plastic sticking out like the plastic was only cut 99% of the way and the other 1% is where the plastic is jagged from snapping apart. I hope that makes sense.
I noticed that the finish on the front of the frame was as to be expected, a glossy black just like the photo, but they didn't continue the gloss onto the backside, which is a flat matte black, so if you look from the side you can see the matte from where the gloss ends and the matte begins. I'm a little OCD and things like that bug me...
Anyway, my last observance for the negative side of this frame, and one of the biggest issues I have with it, the hooks to hang the frame are completely superglued on so there is no room to hook anything on the hooks at all!! You can't pull or bend the top of the hook so it will stick out for a small nail to hook because even the top of the hook is glued, they are completely worthless, and I ended up having to glue on hooks that stuck up myself in order to just be able to hang the poster. That bugged me a lot.Read more ›
the plastic on the front was badly scratched on two edges (despite the removable
protective sheet covering it), and the single ratchet for hanging had to pried away
from the backboard with a very thin and sharp knife. Since my print is dark on the
edges, the scratches didn't show too much, so I decided to cut my losses and just

The corners did not meet up and were super pointy. I hurt myself trying to make this look like the picture. Not worth the money, looks nothing like the photo.Published 8 days ago by Amazon Customer

Not the best quality, but I guess that comes with the price. The corners don't perfectly line up, but not noticeable unless you look closely.Published 24 days ago by Michael
