Some specific things I love about the cookbook:
* There are lots of practical suggestions regarding grilling that have made me a better griller and more knowledgable cook overall, which is helpful for a novice like me.
* The guys give you background info on recipes and specific cooking methods, and they incorporate recipes from places that wouldn't necessarily be associated with BBQ.
* There's a lot more than just the main course. My wife particularly appreciates that there are plenty of side dish recipes and suggestions for what to serve with the meal.
* The book is laced with humor and personal stories, and great advice!
For example, it seems Perry is speaking from experience when he warns that, when preparing to roast a whole pig, tell your wife in advance that "she's going to find a large dead animal in her bathtub." Definitely sage advice!
For a cookbook, "Meat Fire Good" is a very entertaining read. It's not uncommon for me to pick up the book to look up one recipe/dish, and a half-hour later, my wife wonders why I'm still reading and haven't started the grill!
Well done, Perry, Terry & Chris! A juicy piece of work, rare and tasty....
