these aren't really kitchen dish towels at all... but really nice rags. they're very small and come out of the dryer so crumpled it's almost impossible to fold them... really - ikea sells these for .50 cents a pop.

Towels are 100% cotton with a loose weave and they are very absorbent. I haven't noticed any lint on the dishes. I hope I can convince my husband they aren't oil rags.

These are thin, cotton kitchen towels, made in India with finished hems. They appear well-constructed and have lasted through a few washings with no problem. Like them.

These dish towels were reasonably priced. They are absorbant. They shrank a little in the wash which is to be expected. Their only drawback is that they are somewhat linty. I don't know how many washings it will take to change that.

Update: In December 2012 I ordered more towels. This time they were not linty but were less soft, and the plastic wrapper and some of the towels smelled as if they'd been handled by someone with cologne on their hands. They also had a slightly acrid smell. However they aired out and washed out OK. I liked the 2011 ones better, so I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 4. These are still the best dish towels I've found, though

March 2011: I consider these towels a real find. The cotton is absorbent and does its job; the fabric is substantial and long-lasting, but lightweight enough to dry easily. I like the plain, classic practical look. The towels were linty when they arrived, but the first laundering removed most of the lint, and the second wash removed the rest. More importantly to me, the towels arrived without any perfumey odors and washed out wonderfully unscented and fresh.

After washing the very first time before use they appear tattered and threaded..not a good buy destined for the garage...

I use these in the kitchen and I give kitchen towels a hard time, so far they have held up through several washings. The only compliant I would have is how much they shrink. I bought because of the size, I like longer towels that will stay on my shoulder during cooking. The towels lost about about an inch in width and about 3 1/2 inches in length.

All in all though for the price they are good for kitchen clean up, although not as absorbent as I would like, but that is due to the thinness of the material.

I bought these because I like to have a towel draped over my shoulder when I cook, to keep my hands clean, and wipe up small spills. These towels are thin but rugged, and the perfect size for me.

I keep a half-dozen stashed around my kitchen so I always have one handy.

Don't expect to dry a ton of dishes with these. They simply aren't absorbent enough. They are, however commercial-quality dish rags, cheap enough to simply throw away when they get too soiled.

Update: After 6 months of using these, none of them have become too soiled to use. They launder beautifully and look the same as after the first time I washed them. Also, they've held up well enough that none of them are tattered. I would say that I'd buy them again, but at this rate, I won't have to. The ones I have will last me a couple more years!

Update: I've used these for 18 months, and I haven't had to throw any of them away. The worst I can say is that I've inadvertently stained a few with bluing, but that's my fault. The towels are still excellent. I use them as hot pads, and have a couple stashed by the sink to dry my hands on. They have seen very heavy use and show almost no wear. Again, I'd order more, but I don't have to. I still have the ones I ordered.
