Sn60/Pb40 - Available in No Clean (NC) & Rosin Activated (RA)

It melts at a slightly higher temperature than the Sn63/Pb37 solder, resulting in robust and reliable joints that are highly resistant to whisker formation.

Rosin Activated (RA)

Made of rosin, extracted from the sap of pine trees, and contains the active ingredient abietic acid.

No Clean (NC)

A mixture of organic resins mixed with certain inorganic agents. It leaves residues behind that do not normally require cleaning.

Water Soluble (WS)

Made from glycol bases, this organic flux is more reactive than rosin activated flux and is thus a stronger cleaner. It leaves a residue behind that requires cleaning with hot water after soldering.

M.G. Chemicals rosin activated flux formula is used in our flux-cored solder wire. Its rapid wetting and fast flowing properties results in consistent and reliable soldering every time. Cleaning becomes optional with our RA Flux core because of its non-corrosive and electrically non-conductive properties. Includes contents 60 percent tin, 40 percent lead. Physical and chemical characteristics (flux extract): RA. Color and appearance: amber solid. Softening point, degree C (flux extract): 80 degree. Acid number (mgKOH/g sample): 150-160. Silver chromate (qualitative halides): detection. Classification per J-STD-004: ROM1. Surface insulation resistance: > 1.0 x 109. Shelf life: indefinite. Residue removal: not required. Upper temperature limit: do not to exceed 260 degree C (tip temperature).

Perfect middle of the road size. Good Connections.

This 60/40 solder is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a computer engineer who likes to tinker and 60/40 was what I used in my hardware related classes. I just figured I'd stick to that and found a winner. It seems to melt as expected with my Weller iron and flows well. The only other thing you might be concerned about is size. I've used it on some varying projects and it's been a good middle-of-the-road diameter. If you have a magnifier out it may be just a touch too big but I've used it even there and was fine. Then on RC projects where I'm splicing larger gauge wires I was able to put enough material down to make a good connection without it going so fast that I felt like I wasn't holding anything.

If you're a professional looking for a good spool for most situations(you probably already know but...) this is a good one. If you're a beginner looking to try your hand at soldering again, perfect item to try first.

WOW! EXCELLENT SOLDER. . . I have been soldering electronic circuits and many other electrical circuits since the seventies and I never see a WONDERFUL, GREAT 60/40 Rosin Core Leaded Solder, 0.032" Diameter. . . For me this brand is the best of the best because when I soldered the first electronic piece to the circuit with the conductor wires, the soldering was immediate, with a clean and shiny appearance making the perfect welding and soldering without imperfections or making cold soldering. It has an excellent degree of adhesion doing the solder of all points and electrical contacts free from any electrical failure. When I took it in my hand I thought, well here is another Tin Lead Rosin Core Solder Wire same as all: But when I put in the tip of my Soldering Station this Solder Wire, it make me swallow my thoughts and I was surprised to see the quality and superiority of welding in the soldering points.
I bought 2 of those pocket pack and definitely I will buy more than 3 this week to have them spare parts. . . I RECOMMEND THIS SOLDER WIRE 100% - - - works excellent and melts at a temperature not so high at the tip of the soldering iron. . . . A+

Good solder. The case that it comes in works really well to protect the solder and dispense it when you need more. The solder flowed very good and made good connections. This is what I first used to learn to solder and made it look like I actually know how to solder haha.
