How to use it for young coconuts:

Young Coconuts:

1.Hit only the front end of the tool

2.The tool will form an angle

3.Pry down, and then remove the tool from coconut.

But after you have used it a couple of times, you know what you're doing and it gets easier.I do feel like the circle that you hammer could be a bit sharper so you don't have to work it as hard.Also, the coconut scraper is pretty useless. It's cheap and bends more than it strips the coconut meat.

These are nice tools to have for opening up coconuts. I usually like to drink fresh(ish) coconut juice from a coconut so this is a great too to have. It makes opening up coconut super easy. I was able to use the hammer (which is not metal) and the opener to easily break into the coconut. It does take a bit of hammer to get in to the coconut but WAY less of a mess then using other tools. It also makes sure the piece you are hammer out does not go into the coconut. There is a small spot on the side to remove the cut out piece once you are done so makes removal VERY easy. The opener is pretty sturdy so it can take a good amount of heat. The one thing I did not really like was the scooper. It is not very good for scooping the inside. Honestly it just does not scoop well. It gets stuck. The scooper is sturdy but just does not do a good job. The tools are fairly easy to clean. Just a simple wash and scrub or use a dish washer. Overall this tool made opening coconut a whole lot easier and less mess. Only thing is that I think the scrapper/scooper needs a bit of work as it just does not scoop very well.

I struggled with a hammer and knife and made an enormous mess before finally getting a hole in the top to get the coconut water out. Maybe it was an older one- but I made a decision right then that I would find the right tools to get the job done! This set from Mggi is sturdy stainless steel. I was able to use the mallet and hammer right through the top and the scraper cut through the tender meat easily. I am so impressed! This saves me time and frustration! Excellent quality! Highly recommend!
