wiring is way too small of gauge

this wiring harness was recommended for the 41" Mictuning light bar that I also purchased. The wiring was way too small. it came with a 5A fuse, but should have been a 15A minimum, but probably more like a 20A. The wiring looked to be 18awg. I connected it, turned on the power, and the wiring got really warm. there is not way that I would turn the lights on for any extended time. This is a fire hazard. Mctuning, you should review your recommended selections

I tried to use this product for a 150 watt LED light bar. Wired it up and blew the 5 amp fuse it came with. Put in a 10 amp fuse which was fine. Turned the light on for a few minutes and checked the wiring and it was warm to the touch. The positive wire that connects to the battery was not 10 Gauge like I ordered, it was closer to 14 or 16 Gauge wire. The wires going to the lights also felt warm to the touch. It was past the return date and I threw out the packaging so I ordered some 10 Gauge wiring to rebuild it with. I don't know if I just got sent the wrong kit or there was some other mistake in the manufacturing process but prolonged use of the kit I received could have easily started a fire or other major electrical damage.

Even though I had some issues, I'm still giving this product five stars.
I used this harness to put two small 4" LED lights on my Suzuki KingQuad. I wasn't looking to run anything "large", and actually didn't want a huge amount of wire length. I did want the waterproof switch.
My biggest complaint is the lack of documentation. Had to use Amazon's Q&A section for this product to get my questions answered:
1. The switch only lights when it's toggled on.
2. You need to drill a 3/4" hole for the switch and you will get a nice snug fit.
3. Ground the relay switch.
Grounding the relay switch was my biggest challenge. I was ultimately able to use an existing bolt for the battery bracket because I didn't want to drill any holes in the frame. A longer mounting "arm" or extension would have been helpful here. I wound up just making my own extension using some leftover pieces of aluminum I had from an outdoor electrical box. If you zoom in near the battery's positive terminal you can see it to the left.
I'm not a big fan of the pinch on connectors. I chose to strip, twist, solder, and heat seal the connections. This might seem like a lot more work. But, from my experience flickering LEDs are most commonly due to faulty connections than bad components. Wound up with a nice, neat, and well functioning connection. I did have to run about 2 +/- feet of "extra" wire up and around.
One negative review mentions that theirs only came with one 5A fuse. Mine came with the four different size fuses as described.

This harness has everything you need: a good protective coating, leads so you can connect up to 2 different lights, the included mating terminals for whatever lights you want to use, fuses, the relay, and a super bright light in the switch to show you when it's "on". I'm REALLY GLAD that this company spent the extra few pennies to include the terminals and fuses, rather than forcing customers to buy them separately and hope that they picked the right ones--this takes out all of the guesswork for the end-user.

Too short for Jeep windshield lights

This is actually a nicely put together harness. Its shielded and all connections are made, its plug and play. Only problem, I was using it to install two small cube LED lights at the base of a Jeep Wrangler windshield. The harness did not have enough wire to connect to the first light, then stretch across to the second one. I had to "bridge" it with a foot long section of wire. Other than that,,easy install, good quality.

Great harness for the money

I bought a MICTUNING LED Light Bar and went with their wiring harness. It was easy enough to install. The instructions left a little to be desired, but for the money I can't complain. YouTube helped answer my questions.

I would invest in shrink tube and spade connectors if you don't solder the wires. There is plenty of length of wiring to work with. One other recommendation, if you need to drill the hole bigger to mount the regulator, remove it first. I made the mistake of trying to drill out the hole bigger and cracked off one of the mounting lips. Nothing Gorilla glue couldn't fix.

They put a very low amp fuse in the harness. Put a bigger one in. Mine blew right away.

As an electrician I see a lot of equipment, but the speed at which this catastrophically failed might be a record. The relay had a complete meltdown after 2.5 months. Running 2 very small LED flood lights this should have lasted forever.

Very nice quality harness for the price. Unfortunately there are a couple downsides, but it's nothing that should deter you from buying this if you're already capable of wiring this in yourself:

1.) The Y-splice for the lights is not crimped or soldered together, only twisted and heat shrinked. The joint simply just fell apart without any tension during installation. Now, this isn't a big deal to me because I simply just cut the heat shrink off, soldered the joint back together and rewrapped it, but it is something important to take note of, and why I won't give the harness 5 stars.

2.) If you're only going to your front grill/bumper, you'll have more than enough length. If you're going back toward a headache rack, like I did for one of my installs, you won't have enough length - obviously this is completely a matter of circumstance, but I'm just pointing it out for anyone else.

The wiring diagram is mostly useless And the relay was defective.

This made a small job into a big job because I had to pull the switch wiring in order to install the switch. When I re-wired it according to the diagram nada.

In figuring that out I learned that not only was the diagram useless but that the relay was shot too.

So it doubled the amount of time it took to install because I ended up having to cut the relay out and re-wire the whole thing.

such a bad design on the button itself, makes it very difficult to install. theres a rubber cap on top that flexes when you switch it on and off. it's very cheap and not what I expected.

If I had known it would have some sub-par rubber cap like this, I'd have purchased a different design. it looks awful.

edit: the switch isn't too terrible after playing around with it, I just wish the connectors were of better quality. I hope they don't give out and corrode like others have posted. I have used dielectric grease on mine along with electrical tape for insulation. here's hoping.

First off and foremost people, you are all talking about running the ground wire straight to the battery and the wire isn't long enough. There is a reason for this. A ground wire does not necessarily mean you have to run the black wire straight to the negative post on the battery. Find a ground on the frame is good enough and you can cut the wire short enough that you don't need to run it all the way to the battery especially on a ATV or a side by side.
