Hard, Protective Wax

This seems to be a great quality wax. I love that it is all natural pure wax. I came across this being using in a finish and decided to use it to finish my wooden tabletop. I mixed one part candelilla wax to 3 parts pure tung oil in a mason jar and then set the jar in a pot of simmering water until it melted, then took it out of the water. I stirred it with a wooden spoon as it dried, and now the spoon looks a little better too! Then I rubbed it into my tabletop and used an electric buffer to bring out a really nice shine. I have included a picture for reference. This melted very nicely and I did not notice any impurities when melted. The flake form is also great for making exact measurements without a scale.

perfect alternative to beeswax...Note: if you would like to substitute this for beeswax, you always use half the quantity. So for example, say it calls for 3 tablespoons of beeswax, only use 1.5 tablespoons of candelilla. I use this for lip balms. Also, on a side note..I didn't know this, but I recently learned how beeswax is made and it made me feel differently about using beeswax all together. If your interested, you should do some research..but I found an article that was very eye opening...

I ordered this product as a vegan substitute for beeswax. It arrived promptly and was well packaged. It seems to work very well as a substitute for beeswax in the hard salve and soft salves that I made for my aromatherapy course. I'm not crazy about the smell of it. It smells a bit like plastic to me, but my daughter who is very sensitive to smells said that it smells like honey to her. I am definitely satisfied with this product and will continue to use it.

The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it has a very strong smell to it and if i add flavoring, you won't be able to taste it... it has a particular taste to it. Although i don't thinl that's a problem. It performs really well and everybody says they love them. :)

High quality candelilla wax as described. I used this to make vegan-friendly salves, and they came out great! Just use half the amount of what you would use with beeswax. The consistency of the salves is firmer (than beeswax), and is translucent and glossy. Let the salves harden at room temperature and do not place in the freezer to expedite the process because the salves will crack almost immediately (which can be fixed by remelting). This bag will last me a long time, but I will definitely reorder the same product if not a larger bag. Very happy with this product.

I made my first batch of vegan lip balm right after my neighbor gave it to me. I should put more EO in it for fragrance. It melts nicely. One pound of this vegan wax can make a lot of lip balm. It's a very cheap holiday treat/present. USPS placed it on the WRONG front door. I swear they need to double check the address before they hurry up and get the F out of the place.

I wanted this wax to use in my lotion bars. It did the job, however it has such a strong scent that it over powers any scent I add. Also this wax gave a grainy feel to my lotion bars that I was not completely pleased with. Like I stated before it does the job but I need something that has a more pleasing scent and this just wasn't it.
