Trust a phd in physics, the Mira insulates very well and doesn't leak.

Yesterday I posted reviews for the Simple Modern 22 oz and Glacier Point 25 oz with the summary being that the Simple Modern insulates very very well and the Glacier Point is not great. Today I've got my hands on a Mira 25 oz and conducted similar thermal tests. The Mira performs much like the Simple Modern, i.e. very well. When 80 C water is insert at 22C ambient temperature the outside case only reaches 24-25 C (and about 29-30 C near the neck of the bottle) and water temperature after 2 hrs was 76C and after 4 hours just a few C lower. So this Mira performs very well too. And it doesn't leak (the GlacierPoint does, the Simple Modern didn't).Below is a copy of the review I posted on the GlacierPoint and Simple Modern bottles.-------------------------I bought a 25oz GlacierPoint and a 22Oz Simple Modern Summit, both which are claimed to be from similar materials and with a vacuum insulation layer. At this point I stopped the test as it was clear the Simple Modern is doing it's job and the GlacierPoint is not performing as claimed (in fact the performance is on par with what you would expect with a conventional non-vacuum insulated flask).The other issue I had with the GlacierPoint was that if I shake the lid when liquid is inside I am able to get some drops (or more) out from the lid. One has to shake vigorously to do this but clearly this is a problem if I leave the bottle laying sideways, or in any orientation in a low pressure situation (i.e. high altitude hiking or air travel). The Simple Modern on the other hand did not leak at all.I have been waiting for a long time for dewar (laboratory vacuum insulated containers) to come to consumer market and now it has happened. But avoid the GlacierPoint for now as it is either not vacuum insulated, or poorly designed.I have paid for both of these items myself and have no affiliation with either company.

Below is a copy of the review I posted on the GlacierPoint and Simple Modern bottles.

I bought a 25oz GlacierPoint and a 22Oz Simple Modern Summit, both which are claimed to be from similar materials and with a vacuum insulation layer. However, the GlacierPoint fails in both insulation and cap seal.
I used IR thermal sensing to confirm the poor insulation I could feel by hand: Starting with 80 C water in both at 12:46pm the GlacierPoint external temperature reached almost 50 C within a couple of minutes, whereas the Simple Modern sat at 24C (22.5 C ambient temperature today). The Simple Modern stay cool to the touch and the GlacierPoint is obviously warm to touch (not a good sign for a thermal insulator). Take a look at the images attached and read on, but the SUMMARY is that the GlacierPoint can be seen to be hot on the outside with hot water inside, which means thermal energy is leaking, but the Simple Modern stays almost room temperature, except for the lid.
