Great game... I bought it as I am in love with the PS4 version. Although the game can get a little glitchy during the swings, it is still a fantastic game for the PSVita. Highly recommend playing the Road To Glory option, such a fun game mode.

Really is a fun game. The biggest issue is that the controls are opposite what you would think. The square throws to first and the circle throws to third. This can be really problematic when fielding a ground ball. Other than that, it's fun.

My review of this year's installment only concerns the Road to the Show, as it is the only option that I play. The only real improvement is the commentary during an at-bat. It's a really nice improvement. Also, this year you don't just begin playing in the minors. You have to play a three game exhibition, and then you may be drafted depending on your performance. You can also be drafted and choose to go to college for a year if you're not happy about who or where you were drafted. I love this format as it provides your player with a better sense of development. Another plus is throwing is much more difficult with this version. I like this because you have to develop skill to play good defense. The only problem is they decided to switch the controls around - so, instead of throwing to first, I'm throwing to third, etc. I find this change really dumb because it's easier to throw to first using O, second Triangle, third Square, and home X. This alone, frustrated me from wanting to play the game beyond a couple of hours.

What I don't like is the camera angle is further away while on defense and while on base as compared to MLB 13. Not much, but far enough that's it's noticeable, and sort of takes you out of the action a bit. What I dislike the most is the batting seems more like an arcade as opposed to the realistic feel of MLB 13. When you swing, the bat stops momentarily on the back swing. This just looks/feels awkward. With MLB 13, you can "see" the bat to the ball. Not so much with this year's version. I feel like I'm just swinging as opposed to batting the ball. Although the game's AI pretty much decides when you're hot or in a slump, with MLB 13 the game also responds well to your skill as a hitter. This year, it just doesn't seem as fluid.

Another great installment of MLB The Show on the Vita. Although they did remove online and what not, it's still an awesome game. You can still do Home Run Derby online, if you're into that kind of thing. They could touch up a few things, but that's extremely minor. I haven't had any framerate issues that I've noticed. If you're looking for a baseball game on the Vita, can't go wrong!

Until patches come out, I have a hard time endorsing this. I buy The Show every year and this year the Vita version has been plagued with frame rate drops(especially on hits to the outfield), game crashes(I've had more than one crash after a game which caused me to lose my progress) and minor glitches(sometimes the XP pop up doesn't go away).

I do like the new Back to School option in Road to the Show, but I wish you got a bigger XP bump from doing it. Minor quibbles though.

Overall, when it works, the game is very solid. Just needs to be patched to fix the minor issues I'm having.

An okay portable baseball game that scratched the itch I had. It doesn't explain itself very well, so maybe previous experience with The Show games would help. The frame rate is not super solid and neither are the visuals. The players and environments look like late PlayStation 2 baseball games! I know the Vita is more powerful than this and I would think Sony would want to show it off a bit. It plays well but I straight up do not enjoy batting. Using the sticks instead of the touchscreen to "aim" your pitches is jerky and frustrating. I crave the baseball titles of the S/NES era, but this isn't a terrible substitution.

Although I actually enjoy the game i made a mistake of selecting a "Closer" and on the PS3 it works fine but on the PSVITA it often does not save and the system has to be "rebooted" and you have to try again to play and save. There have been times that I played the same game 3 times. I guess more frustrating is that as a closer you get approx. 100 points per game if you do well and the maintenance can take several hundred points to even maintain your abilities so when you have to play 4 games to get credit for one it makes it difficult. I called SonyNation and told them about the issue and spoke with a rep and asked if they can credit me for points I purchased and use them on a different position and the rep said sure it would take 5-7 days for the credit to show in my wallet. 2 days later I received an e-mail from SonyNation and was told that my credit was denied. I created another position and it works fine, i go back to the "closer" and it still fails to save every couple of games .
