From the Manufacturer
Operate your router and other tools with hands-free convenience. The Billy Pedal is a spring loaded safety switch that turns off the tool when you lift your foot from the pedal. Simply plug our foot switch into your electrical outlet, then plug your tool into the Billy Pedal. 15 Amp. Includes 8 foot cord.

The switch is very light, so it needs to be fastened down. There are tabs on the front and back to facilitate this. I find that a piece of one by six board adds enough weight to hold the switch in place, but is portable enough to let you move it from machine to machine. However, I would recommend buying a separate switch for every machine that you want to control. I am already considering getting one for my lathe, my drill press, and my sander. one year later: The air blower on my saw broke. I plugged a three way adapter into my Billy switch, plugged my saw in one socket, bought a cheap aquarium pump and plugged it into another socket leaving me with a free socket to add a Shop Vac for dust collection once I figure out a way to connect it up. This way both my blower and my saw come on and go off at the same time
I suffer from neuropathy and foot pain. This switch requires so little pressure to operate that I can work on my saw for many hours without any discomfort.
I haven't used one of these before so it's taking me a bit to rid myself of old habits like having to manually turn off the saw before removing the work piece. But it'll come with practice.
I can see where this will be a great addition to the scroll saw setup. I may order a few more for other tools.
Not just safer but more convenient! Dremel + FlexShaft attachment + this switch is ergonomic bliss. I’ve also been missing out on my random orbit sander NOT running away off the end of my project all this time!
I zip tie the switch on the saw to the on position and use this product as the alternate switch to turn the saw on and off so I can use my hands (both of them) to guide steel through a cut. I tried doing without this product but that's too dangerous with a zip tied saw switch. Using the saw without the zip tie makes it unusable. Therefore this product is a must have for me.

The housing is completely of thick black plastic. From the photos I somehow expected metal, but plastic she be! I have screwed it down to a 7x11" piece of OSB to strengthen it and add some heft, so it doesn't just flutter away from my foot in use. The power cord is thick and beefy enough to take some abuse, but it uses only 16/3 wiring rated for 13amps, not the 15amps claimed and paid for. Which makes one wonder about the true rating of the internal switch contacts. This one may go back, as the log splitter does draw a full 15-amps.
• First thing “Hands-free!”
• No need to free a hand to hunt for your ON/OFF switch
• 5 star for its performance and price and safety
• Works great.
The cord is a little stiff.
In my opinion,
Overall I am satisfied with the product it does make the job a lot easier, an excellent addition I recommend this product.
I hope you found this helpful !
Description should be updated to denote that this pedal simply goes between the device and the power. Press the pedal, device goes on.. let go, device goes off.
Also would be helpful if the picture of the plug (so we can determine if our device plug will fit) would be helpful.
I do wish it was a bit heavier, but it works exactly as you expect it would.
Guess I should read more before buying something
My two day prime delivery took over seven days to arrive but this is no fault of the product.
well on my 16 Delta. Set the speed and push the pedal.
The one I got now is on/off as one press or not the oedal wich is perfect for scroll saw among others.
