I bought these moabs after reading some random internet reviews of them. I bought them for deer hunting. I do a ton of walking/scouting for my style of hunting. These are the most comfortable boots I’ve worn for hunting. I can walk all over the place and my feet do not hurt. They have great support and they’re lightweight. As far as waterproof goes so far they have been. I have not submerged them and I try to avoid it but I have walked through morning dew and small creeks and my feet have stayed dry. I would assume just like any other boot they will eventually leak. Hopefully I can get a few years out of them before that. Once they do I’ll just buy another pair. Just keep an eye out on Amazon when they go on sale. Can’t beat the price.

Admittedly, they aren’t the most stylish looking boots, but they are super solid and long lasting, especially for the price point. There’s a reason why Merrell has had this style available for years without changing it, while they have lots of other limited styles available off and on throughout the year.

After tying on about a dozen different boots from different outdoor stores, I finally found these and I couldn’t be happier with their performance or how they feel. These are extremely comfortable and supportive boots, without being too heavy or rigid.

Price wasn’t a consideration when I was searching for new hiking boots because I just wanted sometime that fit great and performed well, but I was happy that I found these. I even have a pair that I use just for hiking so they don’t get worn out at work, but I love my work pair because they’re worn in and are easy to wear all day.

Highly recommended for quality. Not too stylish, but worth the sacrifice.

Comfortable, good support and appears to be some good quality materials. I laced them up a little too tight at first and had a pinch where your toes flex. Once I loosened things up in the toes, things got much more comfortable. It was my fault for not breaking them in but I ordered them late and the first time I wore them was on the plane for NYC. I put on 21 miles in 3 days walking all over Manhattan from Central Park down to One World Trade Center. Feet felt pretty comfortable afterwards, even without breaking them in so I imagine they will feel even better on my next outing. My only knocks are they fit a little snug with thick socks and the laces need another inch or two. Otherwise, very happy with this purchase

I had been wearing pair after pair of Timberland boots. They are adequate, but the interior lining would break apart at the heel.
I like the fit of the Merrell and the Vibram sole which has superior traction on ice and snow. The waterproof quality is holding up to its claims so far. I walk 3 miles a day during the winter months and these boots have been just great.
I wear a 9.5 regular width in the Timberlands and the Merrells fit me perfectly in the same size.

I wanted a waterproof boot for my birding field trips. These are excellent quality. The price is very reasonable and I like to get my fit slightly larger for the toe. I have them on now and they really feel very comfortable. They have a slightly higher ankle so that if I step in water that is not too high, they will give me a feeling of being dry. Last time I went out I got my feet soaked with my regular Brooks running shoes. My birding buddy told me about these and he told me to get a pair. I highly recommend these for anyone that likes to hike in the filed in wet conditions.

My first pair of merrell moab boots were bought from a local retailer and I loved them. They lasted almost three years before the soles were almost gone and some of the seams started coming out. My only disappointment was they were listed as waterproof but proved to not even be close to waterproof, maybe water resistant at best. My second pair I bought from Amazon have been great as the first pair except these really are waterproof. Hopefully they will last as long as the first pair.

I bought these boots to replace the pair of have used for 25 years for winter barn chores and riding. They are much lighter weight than my old boots, yet keep my feet warm and dry. They have enough of a heel for safety in the stirrup. If these last anywhere near as well as the Merrell boots that have hiked three continents and survived years of abuse from horses, they will probably outlive me.

Moab2 seems a bit different. Toe box seems rounder. OK. I took a 9 in the old model, Amazon recommends a 7 for me. Went from this 9 to an 8-1/2EE. Nope. Then 8-1/2M. Yup. In the "real world" I should take a 7-1/2D, but that's with everyday socks. So ... with SmartWools, these in 8-1/2M work after a couple of days of breaking in, starting with athletic socks. Is this confusing? You bet. I've given up on going purely with marked size. If you put on any kind of mileage you really do need to be fussy. It is what it is. Havent gotten the 8-1/2Ms wet yet, can't speak for waterproof quality. In my experience "waterproof" is more a wish than a specification. More on this later ;)

The new laces seem to have Kevlar or something ... a single knot (l used to double knot) holds all day.

Su suela es buena, su impermeabilidad excelente, su durabilidad es buena los que dicen que se les rompe debe ser algún defecto por qué yo llevo años con las moab y siempre duran y les doy uso rudo, su comodidad pues son amplias de la punta bienen bien la talla ni grandes ni chicos pero es lógico en este tipo de calzado que sean un poco amplios para que sean cómodos al estar caminando durante mucho tiempo,en lo personal no me gusta mucho que sean muy alsado este modelo en el tacón lo que hace es que te canses cuando caminas mucho, la calida es excelente pero en mi punto de vista hay mucho más marcas que podrían cumplir lo mismo y de mejor aspecto...
Salomón ultra 3X sería una mejor opción según yo, también por el precio en que ronda serían mucho más cómodas unas Under Armor... Tengo las 3 y prefiero las Salomón yo solo recomendaría comprar estás botas si están en oferta en 2mil o menos como yo las conseguí espero les ayude trato de ser neutral y no digo que no las compres son buena pero hay mejores que ronda el mismo precio

I walk A LOT on both pavement and woodland terrain for up to 10 hours and do it frequently and this is currently the only brand i can trust to not become mushy or fall apart. The sole is very supportive for a very long usage, it will not move around, become detached or let go of the surface cloth like other shoes always do with wear. I have kicked chunks of ice, bonfire logs, rocks, scraped the shoes on forest wood and the stitching and whatever glue holds up. The suede-ish finish feels very nice to the touch and cleans off surprisingly easy for a textured surface. The rubber on the bottom of the shoe takes much longer to wear down than other brands. I am on my 3rd pair of MOAB hiking boots, 2nd pair of running shoes and 1st pair of insulated boots from Merrel and all are impressive in terms of support and durability. The shoelaces are back to being the good kind now, my last MOABs had unacceptable shoelaces and now they switched back to the more durable ones that also don't come undone. The only thing peculiar I ever noticed about the newer MOAB boots compared to the style about 5 years ago is that the toe now has mesh directly on the top which lets more water in during rain or even being kicked up from a wet ground. The older style had a strip of leather straight down the middle with mesh on the sides and the old toe style kept my feet notably drier. Still the best shoe brand for heavy walkers and hikers so far

I was always under the impression that Merrell was a quality product. I bought these, walked three kilometres and my left foot is now buggered up. The arch support(?) dug into the side of the muscle by my arch/heel. The right foot is okay. Poor manufacturing? Poor quality control? Of course I tried them after the 30 day return had expired. I am thinking of cutting the boots in half with a bandsaw to see what the difference is between the left and right boot. My first and very last pair of Merrell.

This is, in my opinion, the very best hiking boot out there. It's super light, solid, well-built, grippy and durable. Perfect for any kind of hiking, from weekend outings to full-blown adventures. I finished a full "Tour du Mont Blanc" (all the Alp summits circling Switzerland, France and Italy) wearing my original Moabs in about 7 days without a single blister and never getting my feet wet. I'm never buying any other model, if Merrell can only keep making it!
