The computer boots in less than thirty seconds, applications load nearly instantly, even web browsing and video streaming go more smoothly.
I wouldn't recommend putting this in an expensive computer, unless you have an expensive computer that you only use for cheap computer tasks like occasionally editing still photos or short videos, working on Microsoft Office docs, etc. If you have an expensive computer and want to use it for expensive computer things like moving a 50gb 4k video from another drive to this drive, you will suffer. Like some others in this price range, it has extremely slow sustained write speeds once file size exceeds something like 6 gb, or you have more data than that to write all at once. (Find actual facts and plenty of complaints on review websites that focus more on fairly abstract benchmarks than real world scenarios.) But other than perhaps when I migrated the system from an HDD to this drive, it has never been an issue.
For normal stuff--starting up your machine, opening programs, copying a folder from one partition to another--this drive is as good as anything. If you need more... don't buy a Hyundai and expect it to act like a Porsche.
(Edit: I just read a Tom's Hardware review of the Samsung 750 EVO that included this drive in a multi-SSD comparo, and the BX200 was the slowest and worst at nearly every benchmark. Still works great! However, as the price fluctuates upwards toward $125 and beyond, my goodwill toward the brand Crucial becomes less compelling, because we're in the price range of some speedier drives at this point.)

Crucial is making a Great Progress on New SSD Models. I have nothing negative but positive to say, it's a Great Product, Price, Quality and Performance Wise. Maybe for some people will be nice to include the 3.5inch to 2.5inch adapter, but most Cases already have it.
On my Tests and Benches, Read/Write and 4K remains mostly the same good performance from 2GB to 100MB Data Sample on Crystal Disk Mark. On AS SSD Benchmark (The Official Competition Bench of HWBOT) varies a bit on 4K as it uses a different Thread Count wich is 4K64 rather than the 4K32 of Crystal Disk Mark. As you may already know Crucial is a Brand of Micron and uses TLC (Triple Cell) NandFlash and it uses a Silicon Motion [...]

In the past, I've bought the smaller capacity SSDs and just installed the the OS on them to save the money. But now with the additional space, I can even run a VM as a server from the SSD to boost performance. Another trick I've done in the past for laptops that don't have a higher memory capacity is to make a 2nd partition with about 35GB of space and play with the virtual disk size on it so I can squeeze
With the laptop that I installed one of these in, I've noticed a big difference in responsiveness and reduced wait and loading times. in many cases, its literally doubled the speed. With the amount of cloud storage available these days through Google Drive, MS OneDrive, DropBox, and a TON of others, 240GB of SSD space should be more than enough for any system. I use higher capacity "spinning" drives in a RAID5 configuration that still don't match the performance of this SSD. I also have over a TB "spinning" HD's in my PC that store information I don't need performance for accessing (or I don't access very often at all) in the event 240GB isn't enough space someday.
I am building a NUC computer for college, and was not looking at spending as little as possible for what I need. I need something for MS Word, and some Excel work. I am not working with large files, I am not gaming, I am not video editting, I am mainly browsing the web, looking at email, reading books on line. My needs are very light.
I did my own bench mark testing and I got a large file read (1gb) of 599.6 Mb/s and a small random read of 460 Mb/s.
Simply put, there are drives with a lot better performance. If you need better performance, purchase the correct product. If you are looking for better windows start up time and that is about it, than this is a wonderful drive to pruchase.
As always, a little research on the internet will prevent you from purchasing the wring product.
