"A packing miracle"
And did we mention it is a packing & traveling MIRACLE?
SO HOW DOES IT WORK? The secret of MORF lies in its simple double-layer construction that allows it to magically change colors, cuts and looks, enabling you to customize and personalize your look in the most practical way. Actually the MORF structure is so smart and unique – that it's one of the few shirts ever to be registered as an official fully registered U.S patent.
MORF is made of high quality, light-weight fabrics, and the best thing – it is simple. MORF has no velcro, no buttons, no zippers, no strips, no complicated ties and no instructions manual none whatsoever… Morfing is as simple as changing your tee: There is no wrong way to wear MORF – anything goes! - Size - description and reviews said to order a size up. I usually wear an S or M, so I ordered a Large. It's a little loose but I feel that the M might be too small. So - order a size or two up.
- The layers - this shirt is composed of 2 layers, so it's a bit like wearing 2 shirts. For some of the configurations you'll have three layers in the back, one in front (or vice versa). That feels a bit weird. It's definitely not a bad idea in the winter - less so in the summer.
Material - I thought I'd be able to wear this to work, but it's not that type of shirt. I see myself wearing it around the house or to a bowling alley. The black color has a slightly washed-out look, it's not a true black. The ads make the shirt look very elegant - but it's kinda just a long-sleeve t-shirt. Definitely not very elegant. Plus, not sure how the colors will hold over time (I've washed it only four times so far, too soon to tell).
Ease of changing styles - changing styles/morfing is pretty simple and fun, but make sure you have an antiperspirant that doesn't leave white marks, otherwise after trying out all the styles you'll have white marks on all the layers.
In the end, the material feels slightly cheap and I'm disappointed. I would have paid $100 for the same shirt but made from a better material, so I could wear it to work or on a date. I give it three stars because it does what it's supposed to do - the execution just seems worse than I expected, given the Kickstarter hype.
But more importantly, I hadn't anticipated how thick this shirt is-- it's essentially 2-3 layered t-shirts, so it ends up being very warm. I would only feel comfortable wearing it in winter. I really wanted to have this shirt available when I travel-- but because of the weight, I wouldn't be able to wear it anywhere warm or I'd else sweat through it so quickly that I'd have to wash it over and over, which kills the point of packing light for travel. So the $59 price tag for a winter-only t-shirt is not something I'm willing to pay.
Finally, the 24 styles advertised is a little optimistic-- yes, you can turn it inside out a few times, but it essentially still looks like the same shirt. And in the video where the model flips the end of the sleeves up to show different colored cuffs? I guess that plays into the 24-style count, but really, it's not reasonable to wear it that way, because then you end up with 4 layers of bunched up fabric. So really, I would only ever wear this shirt with the sleeves pulled all the way down to the wrists. It doesn't help that the package comes without any sort of product guide, so there's no easy way to tally the number of looks short of flipping it inside and out endlessly. I think I counted about 6 unique designs-- I don't know where the 24-style count is coming from, unless we're counting tying it up as a scarf or belt or something as well.
So I guess after writing this all out, I realize I'm much more disappointed in this product than I thought when I first decided to return it. :(
