This stuff is incredible! This is my first and only Amazon review, but I promised myself that if this product worked I would write a review in hopes of helping someone else going through the nightmare we endured. We bought a home in Florida and weren't told about the family of rats living in the attic (I actually watched multiple adult-sized rats run down the side of my house one evening). Woke us up every night for weeks with their running, squeaking, fighting, etc. We proactively fought them for over a month and tried everything you can imagine. They wouldn't touch snap-traps, peanut butter, D-con, or anything of that nature, and we cut back every plant/tree near our house until we found that they were climbing the actual walls of the house. We even called professionals who gave up and said they couldn't help us. This bait was our last resort. Snapped on a rubber glove, threw about 2 lb of this sweet-smelling peanut butter flavored goodness throughout the attic, and within 2 days all activity completely ceased and nights became silent. Of course there was a foul smell that lingered for a little over a week (smelled like rotten diaper and forced us to sleep in the spare bedroom for a day or two), but in the end we couldn't be more pleased with this bait. It put an immediate end to our month long nightmares when nothing else would. Get the red unless you plan on leaving it out in the rain (the yellow is weatherproof but much weaker and species specific). Extremely effective, and solved the problem in just 2 days. Haven't heard a thing in the attic since. Best purchase from Amazon to date.

I always buy this for use in my black Tomcat traps. When you fill and refill the Tomcat trap, make sure to use latex gloves. Rats will not approach the trap if they smell human on it. Use the traps outside, and make sure they are closed so that pets and children do not approach them. I've had raccoons play with mine and move them, but they are unable to get inside. The way this product works is to make the rats really thirsty. If they are inside your house, you know they have an exit to outside, and they will leave to get water somewhere. It shuts down their nervous system, and they go off to die. So don't worry about the rats dying in your crawlspace or roof or walls. They leave, die somewhere else. I live on a green belt with lots of woods around. This is the only product that works to remove rats, it even beats the Orkin Man!

I had always bought the lower dose Tomcat. But this is the way to go! It only takes a few bites of this higher dose product, whereas the other one works but they will continue to eat on it for days before dying.

When I first began using this product a year or so ago, it was very effective. This year the rats seemed to thrive on the stuff, even making their nest in the bait box. I wondered if the bait had lost it's potency, so I purchased a fresh new batch. Same thing ... no dead rats. I'd even see them 'playing' in the areas around the trap. I purchased the older variety of rat poison (warfarin-type) and within one week I found 3 dead rats in the yard. I wonder if newer rodent generations have become immune to bromethalin.

Glad it has a holedown the middle as with others use a nail to hold it down and yes th rats nibble on it, Had a problem wth them starting and now the problem is just about gone, Havig dogs it is nice to be able to nail them down s rats cannot move them and dogs cannot get at them, Thank you

Used this with a bait station and put it where i keep my chickens because i had rats eating the chicken feed. Worked great in just a few days all the rats were gone! this is great with a bait station because the rats can't take the bait out of the station so there's no worry of other animals getting to the bait.

Rodents love these bait chunks but beware that bromethalin is a potent neurotoxin with no known antidote. It does not act immediately. Rodents ingesting it will move abnormally, making them much more susceptible to capture by owls and other predatory wildlife, who will in turn die when they ingest the unmetabolized toxin. Since each of those animals kill more rodents than your bait ever will,use this product with extreme caution and only in tamperproof bait stations where beneficial wildlife is unlikely to encounter the victims

Bromethalin is the chemical to use.....It's a neuro toxin that shuts them down. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get this over the anti coagulants. You wil be glad you did......Keep your pets away from it. Go to Google and learn how to make inexpensive poison feeders that pets can't get into out of 1.25 inch PVC.
