In order to install Windows 7 from the disk when the computer opened into the BIOS setup, I had to select "Legacy BIOS mode" as "UEFI BIOS mode" kept returning me to the BIOS Setup page and would not read the Windows 7 installation DVD. None of the drivers supplied on the included DVD work for Windows 7 so even though the machine will read and install Windows 7 from the original installation disk, the USB ports, LAN, Wireless, etc will not work at all and Windows cannot update itself. The solution was to download drivers from MSI for the MSI GT70-20D and copy them to a CD or DVD and install them from the CD. This worked perfectly. The MSI supplied NVIDIA driver would not open so I downloaded the driver directly from NVIDIA website. After the installation from the CD, which only had room enough for the USB, LAN, Audio and a couple of other drivers, I was able to go online to download the remaining drivers. Even though there was a couple of items in the device manager that appeared to not have been installed, these items disappeared after Windows 7 updated for the first time. Now, two hours and two hundred plus updates later Windows 7 Pro is running without any detectable problems. If any arise after use, I will update this report.
