In summary, again, this will not support an FX 8350. In general, this will not support any mid to high end gaming rig's due to it's various and numerous other issues. If your running quad core or under AM3+ CPU's and are not looking to game, then I'm sure you'll be fine. But even then, I'd go for something cheaper and better quality.
It's been 2 years since I purchased this motherboard, which I still use. I have no complains except for 1 of the RAM sockets, even though it could recognize the memory, it did not displayed the memory when Windows kicked in. I fixed this issue by moving that one RAM to the blue sockets.
Note: I won't take any stars away since this problem started after 2 years of use.
This board was and Is my answer! I dont have the funds to go out and buy a super computer with all the bells and whisels, so I will need to use some of the old parts added with the new parts. And this board can handle both Old and New! I like the idea that the board has the old EIDE connection, which i put my DVD rom and old HD,( I save money from buying convertors.) Along with a New DVD RW, and 1TB HD using the new ( to me) SATAs. Yeah i know, i realy dont need both, but i am Old school, needing something i Know.... and also for back up if the new crashes. AND it comes with a Floppy connection!, I still like floppys!!! I did go and get an FX6100 6 core prossesor for the purpose of upgrading.
But most of all with this motherboard, There is Room to Upgrade!!! 4 slots for mem 32gig max, which i got a 8 gig stick, i still have 3 open SATA slots to add MORE! 2 old PCI slots, and a PCIe x16 if i want to upgrade to a Vidio card. USB galore, the case came with 2 USBs up front, which can be connected to the MB and there 6 in the back. A HDMI port so i can hook up the TV for a larger screen, A VGA port for my old CRT monitors for testing, and a older mouse/keybourd port.
I gave this a 4 star rating Only because it will be a long while before i can fully test this boards true gifts. Like running with 32 gig mem, unclocking/overclocking the FX 6100 to run its full 6 cores, with a 64 bit Windows, with a massive video card. etc..I am Very Happy to own this great Motherboard!!!
For the price of this board and what you get it with it, I found This MB to be the best buy out there for my needs. There are other MB's out there that offer less for more $$$
The only issue I ran into was playing with the software that came with it, trying to unlock the extra cores in the CPU and over clock, I had to remove the battery and one of the PCI cards to get the system to boot. Running this board with Windows 7 64, with out the extra software supplied on the CD (just the drivers, most from Microsoft) it runs well..
It was just like building a new computer. Reliability takes precedence over lightning speed in my case. All of the necessary connections worked fine. Win 7 found all of the necessary drivers over the Internet if they were not already in the SP1 database. Was up and running within a day. Of course to bring all the programs and files back into place was time consuming since I have thousands of photos.
Would highly recommend it if you have the time and skill to re-build your system.
