I was originally planning to get the HD6850, but there was a larger rebate on this particular HD7770, so I went for this (making the final price at a little over 1 Benjamin). I learned in my research that Nvidia and ATI/AMD are somewhat tailored to different game developers, so certain games prefer the architecture of one versus the other. I happen to play lots and lots of Total War games in my lifetime. And I know that AMD partnered with Sega to make the recent Total War games (like Shogun 2 and Rome 2). Since this series will account for most of my gaming time, I went with this and can't be happier. Absolutely no crash yet on after 40 hours of Shogun 2 and so far the performance on Ultra is very good. I am upgrading from a XFX HD 4770, so being able to have 1GB Vram and a stronger GPU enable me to get Max/Ultra settings. Fall of the Samurai looks stunning with this graphic card and DX11. If you are a big Total War fan on a budget for a graphic card, this will fit the bill perfectly. If you have my spec below, you should have little problem playing the current TW games and the upcoming Rome2!

Update 12/29/2014: several years later and this card is still going. AMD has re-branded this card as the R7 250x. Tried this with Rome 2 Emperor Edition (after all the bugs got ironed out) and got decent frame rates on "very high" setting. Using the in-game "forest" benchmark, I was able to get average FPS of 39 (low of 24) in the default Very High setting. At the default Ultra setting, I got average of 32 with low of 19. The very high setting is just fine for me.

I bought this card a while back in hopes to using something semi decent, I then had to go buy a different card because of the problems that I did not know existed until just recently. I found out today that this card is notorious for not registering the HDMI port. It does not matter if you are using a new TV or not. I took my computer over to a cousins house that has 3 brand new monitors and none of them worked through the HDMI port. I had to use the DVI port just to get something off the card. The only way to get something to work off that card is to get either a Digital Display to HDMI cable or a Digital Display to HDMI converter. either way, you have to use the Digital Display ports off this card just to get some kind of a signal. In the end, the MSI version of this model of Radeon graphics card is junk. If you want something as a base model graphics or something like that, then I suggest that you go with an XFX or an official Radeon card. Dont get me wrong, MSI makes some great motherboards, but I am not so sure about their graphics

I picked this graphics card after about spending 4 hours doing research on specs, as well as customer reviews and wow am i glad I chose this card. I installed it myself without any knowledge of installing graphics cards in a desktop and it went off without a hitch. So very easy installation. I got the driver from the website which was very user friendly and even had an option of a download to search your computer system and recognize the graphics card on its own so I knew I was getting the proper updated driver. The graphics are amazing, the speed is amazing, and Catalyst program that lets you choose your own settings was very user friendly even on advanced. I tweaked the cards settings in about one minute and began playing World of Warcraft on ultimate settings which it ran perfectly well. It also has the option of crossfire so if I want to upgrade again I can get another one and connect them to have duo graphics. I am extremely happy and impressed with this card. BUY IT I promise you will not be disappointed. ENJOY!!!

This was a significant improvement over my 256 MB card that came with my Mac Pro and support for Mini DVI and HDMI is a plus. Looks great paired with my 27" Apple Cinema Display.

To the best of my knowledge, the native driver support for these ATI cards became available with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.3. There are other ways to have the drivers install but your best bet is to have the latest version of OS X on your machine before installing this card.

The first card was DOA -- it went to POST and died. I put back in my old NVidia card, which worked, so I knew it wasn't the computer.

Amazon was AWESOME with the return and replacement -- I got my new MSI/Radeon HD7770 two days after I reported the problem. The replacement (identical) card works perfectly.

The card is made a little bit more lightly than my old NVidia, and feels perhaps a bit flimsier, but since I generally stick video cards in my computer case and forget about them, that doesn't bother me. I just thought I would mention it.

The only reason I took off a star was because of the first (dead) card. It seems to be a good deal, and does exactly what I want it to do (so far).

This card is amazing for entry level gaming, I usually play most games at medium to high settings (some maxed out). I bought this card as refurbished so I wasn't expecting holy grail performance in overclocking and build. In overclocking I got 1100 core and 1250 mem which is better than what I was expecting. Build quality looks okay but at getting around 70% fan speed I believe I hear the fans hitting the fins on the heatsink at times.

In gaming my FPS is around:
Metro: 2033 - Normal:90fps AVG / High:46fps AVG
Red Faction: Armageddon - Maxed:48AVG
Borderlands - Maxed:45fps AVG (with V-Sync Enabled)
Borderlands 2 - High:46fps AVG (with V-Sync Disabled)
Saints Row: The Third - Medium:57fps AVG
The rest of my library of games are 60fps AVG (with V-Sync Enabled)

Temperatures - Lowest: 31C (right after boot) highest: 75C (after 8hrs of BTC Mining)
-Highest gaming temp: 67C (5 hours of playtime 98% AVG GPU usage)

This was a phenomenal upgrade to my system from being a video machine with a GT 210 to a nice entry gaming PC.
