Best 1080p Graphics Card

I upgraded to this graphics card from a Geforce GT 740(a card that can't handle much but can get the job done) and this graphics card is AMAZING for the price that it is. I can run ALL of my games new and old, AAA titles and any other kind at 60fps (or higher) but the keyword is at 1080p. Any higher resolution and you'll probably start to see a decrease in performance. I was also able to dial in a mid range over clock on this card and it handles it nicely. The card isn't that loud either the fans ramp up when its under load. Aesthetic wise this goes great with my red and black build and in my opinion MSI always has the best designs. I wish it came with a back plate but for the price I can't expect that. I love how the MSI Dragon and logo on the side of the card is able to light up and you're actually able to configure it (flash, breath, go with the temperatures etc) The verdict is, if you want to max out your games and you have a 1080p monitor or will be playing games at 1080p resolution definitely get this card bc it can handle whatever you throw at it.

I bought two in order to run sli. I thought I had done my research well. I should have bought one 960 instead of two 950s. they run great and fans are not noisy. I run a quite rig cooler master silent cases and powersuplies, large heatsink fans to move more air at lower speeds. anyway, these cards do run quiet and perform well on all benchmarking. The games I play do not necessarily need sli but the braging rights for having sli is still quite nice. It really burned up my son when I handed him my 750ti and he seen the 950s on my desk. made me smile!

It's a beautiful card for the price and perfect for beginners. However, the GTX 950 line is somewhat outdated at even 1080p, this card runs cs:go at about 75fps (online), depending on your cpu. I would recommend getting AMDs new rx480 card, or an upcoming successor to the GTX 950 or 960 from nvidia. Over all, my card has clocked about 4000 hours so far, and IS running down, but it still has a better lifetime than the AMDs equal. Believe me, I've tested everything over the years and I hope to see what Nvidia can offer for the budget builders in the future.

I actually broke the locking device on my motherboard to hold it in place. Turns out it didnt matter as theis sturdy bricks sits in just fine anyways!
Such a great card, although i wish they would update their driver CDs. I can run high intesity games such as the Witcher 3 or other graphics heavy games, with a nice CPU of course.

Frame rates sit around 40-50 during normal gameplay and during cutscenes sometimes drops to as low as 20, although it is usually 30 fps in cutscenes.

Even with the high intensity games, it has never exceeded a GPU temp of 60, the highest it ever got while i observed was 56 degrees, while running the stress test and while playing the game.

I was torn between getting this card and a GTX 750 TI, which is tried and true technology and little bit cheaper, but i was looking to get a little bit more performance and I am glad I went with this card.

My computer specs:

8 GB RAM

My baseline was 1080p gaming at 30+ frames and so far this card has delivered. I can't always run a max settings, but most games run well at medium settings.

The one thing that has blown me out of the water on this card though is how quiet it is.

For the $150-175 price point, I'd highly recommend this card.

Works fine. Just wish it wasn't so damn huge. Takes up the majority of the case and motherboard. I've only tried running CS GO, Team Fortress 2 and Cod4 on it and everything has run smoothly. Might be better off spending an extra few bucks and getting something more up to date.

I was worried with the massive twin fans it could be a bit loud but it is nice a quiet. So very pleased.

This is a big card! Make sure it will fit in your case before purchase. Had to make some adjustments to my case with a hacksaw. I had been warned by other reviews ;-)

WOW this gpu has made my little boy the happiest boy in the borough, The graphics transformation from using a standard igpu to this has been leaps forward transforming my sons rig into a Mid level gaming rig.

The MSI GTX 950 is a great graphics card for the price, It's able to play pretty much every AAA game, Fallout 4, Fortnite, DOOM, etc all run 60fps on high graphics,
I've had mine for almost a year now and have had absolutely no problems, even overclocking with MSI's software was as simple as dragging a slider.
If your building a PC on a budget but still want great graphics this is a great graphics card but if you're not to strict with money it might be better value to buy the GTX 1050 Ti
