The GPU was used in a Cooler Master Elite 130 case at about 5 feet away, your mileage on temps and noise may differ. The fan itself isn't quiet but it isn't the loudest I've heard. Under 100% you can hear it easily in a quiet environment. If you're using speakers and have the volume decently turned up, game effects will mask most of the noise. For over the ear headphone users the noise is much less noticeable. My unit had no accompanying coil whine at stock nor overclocked. All in all I would rate it fair for the noise level considering it is a single fan solution.
I loaded up unigine heaven to get a baseline temp and performance reading before starting to overclock. I found at stock the card will sit at roughly 76c. I pushed the power limit to 110%, core clock to 1.21GHz, and memory clock to 7000Mhz using AMD's Overdrive included in the software. I could probably push these numbers further but I wasn't particularly in the mood to dial in exactly the MHz between 7000 and 7200mhz that was stable. This resulted in the max temp reaching 79-80c and the accompanying noise to just hit the point I wasn't comfortable with. I unscrewed the heatsink via the four Philip head screws on the bottom and swapped out the thermal paste with some Antec Formula 7. This dropped my unigine heaven temps down to 72-73c while overclocked.
What I will mention about gaming performance is the sweet spot I found between resolution, frame rate, and graphical settings was often 900p at 60 fps. This allowed you to keep most things pretty while maintaining a high frame rate. My main PC is a full tower ATX form factor with a GTX 970 and I specifically built a little ITX build using this card for LAN style parties at friend's. Overall I'm happy with the little LAN box. Money spent vs what MSI delivered, I'm satisfied. I docked one star because while the fan noise isn't the worst it isn't great either.
One of the many reasons I go time and time again to MSI is quality. They cover up all the connections with covers so they do not get damaged. The box itself was packaged well. The only downside I can think of is bundling of free games but that is a gimmick and I'm glad they didn't do that but it would of been a nice bonus.
I would recommend turning down the resolution to 1680x1050 on newer games though. The only regret I have is I didn't spend a little more and got the 4gb one, but then I realize a couple of things. One, that I don't do a whole lot of gaming plus another is when I do I want it to have optimal performance for the type of monitor I have and this provides that, so in retrospect I'm happy overall. I don't play a lot of games that utilizes textures anyways and that is where the extra 2 gb would of been nice.
This has some additional eyecandy in that it has color leds. If you have a see-through gaming case this would be relevant for that but I have no plans to upgrade my case. I might in a year or so because I prefer a better case that is see-through and I dented my existing black non- see through case but that is further down the road and I'm not sure if I might. MSI also has bundled software in which you can control the rotations of the fan and the leds as well as an option I thought was cool which was the pulsating lights option, but it is irrelevant for me since I do not have a see through case but is is a cool gimmick though.

This card is low power, low profile and thus is easy to install onto motherboard manually. Came in original box and with brackets. Personally I wish it would have come with the screws I need to fasten it to my PC, though I suppose that varies between cases.
This thing is okay for light gaming. If I play CSGO at the lowest settings 1080p there are a lot of drops to 30s and 40fps so i like to play at 720p or 1600x900, where i usually get over 72fps. If you try to play any of the newer, much more demanding titles this card might work, but you'll have to find a way to play at ultra-low resolutions and the lowest settings to achieve 60fps.
Personally instead of buying this card for $50 I wish I would have put that money toward something more powerful, even if it were more expensive by a margin. This card does the job for the most part, but struggles heavily in most newer games. This will mean more time spent in the graphics options menus, tweaking lower to more precise settings, trying to get more FPS.
I'm not really experienced with overclocking, so I don't know the potential with this card. It seems to run at a low enough temperature with stock speeds.
In the long run this card isn't worth the money, at least not for budget gaming or fast video rendering. Keep looking at other cards, unless you're looking for something light for a web browsing and media player rig. This card excels at simple tasks, though i feel it's not worth the money for the performance.

The card arrived in good condition and works fine, but was missing the driver CD supposed to be included in the package. Since the PC I have it installed in is running linux (and drivers can always be downloaded) this wasn't an issue for me.
would be nice if a few diagrams of how to set it up was included.
had to go on you tube to get better acquainted with the product.
if you want to sell more of these graphics cards please accommodate a wider age group as we usually have a lot more disposable income.
all in all a very well made product.
made a vast difference to playing assassins creed 2 when I worked out how to over clock it.
managed to average a steady 52 frames per second using after burner
