I think the performance is great on it. I mean I don't play games but the fact that I could is really nice. HD videos play with ease and the speakers, I think, are really great for a computer of the size.Read more ›
Cons include a jumping cursor when typing. This is quite annoying. My other gripe is difficulty in highlighting. It takes several tries before the only the text I want is highlighted.
The computer does not have an optical drive. However, this helps to keep the weight and narrow dimensions of the computer. I bought and external optical drive which I carry with me but have yet to use.
Knowing all I do, I would definitely buy the MSI X370 again!
To my great relief, I found out that the jumping cursor and and difficulty in highlighting is my error. No more problems now. I am changing my review to 5 stars.
a bit louder than I would have thought it to be
heavier than it appears (8-cell batt)
fans and vents are in front, which makes the whole thing vibrate (not terribly bad, but still..), also blows heat at your wrists as you type (and it does heat up to the left of the mouse pad).
I chose the MSI specifically because they make pretty good motherboards and in my experience this is the one component in which you can never be too careful, since most other parts that may fail can be fixed or swaped out with relative ease. I do not miss not having a CD Rom drive either. It is fastly becoming a dead technology and without it the laptop is much lighter and easier to carry during business trips. This perticular model is a bit of a dust magnet but what can you do besides wipe it down every once in a while. No biggie.
The 13.4 inch display is perfect whether I am working on some work spreadsheets, listening to music, browsing the internet or watching movies. Would definetly recommend to anyone looking for a nice simple multi-purpose notebook that is not loaded with Bloatware, whether its to use on business trips or to replace an aging destop PC.
