About the Author
As a crime-story afficionado of long standing, Christer always wanted to write detective stories of his own that would not only be exciting, but that would also be set against the backdrop of the natural beauty of Sweden - and that would afford him the opportunity to portray Swedish society as seen through the eyes of a foreigner. The result: his Stockholm Sleuth Series. Visit his webpage: www.christertholin.one

Christer Tholin is a good storyteller. He brings a vivid imagination to his stories and delivers a bounty of twists and turns. While his writing style is straightforward, he uses that to steadily and methodically build the tension.
After the mysterious (in a good way) prologue, "Murder?" begins with the revelation that a woman’s husband has been missing for weeks. I felt Tholin took a misstep here when the wife shares her worries with Liv and Martin, characters we met in "Vanished?" Their discussion is handled rather coldly, as though someone missing for weeks wasn’t deeply disturbing. Liv actually began extolling how great her life was going!
Fortunately after that, the story gets on track with the private detectives, Lars and Elin, whom we met in "Vanished?" I especially enjoy these two characters, and they carry this story. Once again Elin, who is now a full-fledged private detective in the agency, is the creative thinker. She’s lively and adventuresome. I know she needed to mature into her role with the agency, but I couldn't help but long for one or two more of her bold escapades, the way she did in "Vanished?".
I liked all the “good guy” characters and cared about their well-being. One of the things I especially enjoyed about the first book in the series "Vanished?" was the gentility and tenderness these characters extended to one another, something increasingly lacking in the world. There wasn’t much of that in this book, and I missed it. But all in all, I enjoyed the story and found the last third of the book difficult to put down.

I received a free teaser to a series of Swedish police procedures from Christer Tholin. This Kindle file contains portions of Vanished?, Secrets?, and Murder? and leaves you invested and wanting more. Christer Tholin is an author I will follow. He writes a tense, fast-paced story with characters you want to be involved with.
Christina and Patrik seem to have the perfect relationship, living on the outskirts of Stockholm. But then Lars vanishes in plain sight. Christina turns to the PI team of Elin and Lars, and they do find Patrik in the deep woods of northern Sweden - deceased. The police are calling it an accidental death. Christina knows it wasn't an accident - but will the three of them survive to discover the truth?

“MURDER?” is the 3rd book of Stockholm Sleuth series by Christer Tholin, which can be read as standalone.
Christina is very worried when she cannot get in touch of her husband Patrick for six weeks. It seems that he just “poof” disappeared! Through her friends, Liv and Martin, Christina hires the trustworthy Private Investigators Lars and Elin to find the answers to Patrick’s disappearance.
As these two PIs put their effort into the investigation, more secrets and lies are revealed layer by layer. Are they able to solve the case? The adventure takes us to some parts of Europe including Budapest and Sweden.
Christer Tholin has great potential to write suspenseful crime investigations that would be goodreads to fans of such thrillers.
Thank you to Christer Tholin for the opportunity to read and review “MURDER?”. In fact, I like the story line and the setting that is placed in parts of Europe.

When Christina's husband just vanishes, she hires Lars and Elin to find out where he is.

Christina's world is turned upside down when her husband just ups and leaves one day. After six weeks of trying to find him, she hires Lars and Elin to track him down. She wants answers. Lars and Elin find him, but he is dead. The police say it was an accident, but Christina doesn't believe them and wants Lars and Elin to find out what her husband was actually up to. This sends all three of them on a ride you won't believe! Goes to show you really don't know someone as much as you think you do!!! I voluntarily reviewed a free ARC of this book.

Christina's husband is missing. She hires Lars and Elin to try to find her missing husband. They find his dead body. End of the case? Christina rehires them to find out why he wanted to leave and who the mystery women is he was planning on running away with. A woman, Naliea, calls Christina and says she is pregnant with her husbands child and that a criminal, Stanislov is chasing her and will do her harm. A page turner that will get your heart rate up to the conclusion.

I voluntarily reviewed this AR copy of this book. It is my first book by Christer Tholin, although it was book 3 in the set, I didn't have trouble figuring out the different characters. Christina's husband goes missing and Elin and Lars are hired to find him. This leads to a case of many different characters and plots to finally end up figuring out what indeed happened to Christina's husband. A very good read.
