Toddler eye patch experience

I bought these eye patches for my 3 year old after her last visit. Her doctor asked that we use them for 3 months. After seeing what the regular skin toned patches at Walgreen's and CVS I figured we might as well try to get something with at least a little character which would also give my daughter motivation to wear it. Lets just say it's really been a struggle to get her to keep it on. I've had all her cousins come over and wear one as well to see if that would motivate her. Played games, bribed her with treats and toys and zoo trips but nothing has worked. We worked our way up to 1 hour from 5 minutes but have hit a plateau. She does complain that it itches after a while which is why we are now ordering the fabric pads that go over the glasses to see if we have more success. As for these pads I think they are great and i believe the designs at least make it fun for kids to wear. I think if you have an easy going kid they'll love them but if your kid is anything like mine, feisty and independent, it will be a struggle.

My daughter loves the fun designs. We've been patching for 1 year, and with the exception of 1 other brand with 30 patches, have only used this brand.
This last batch were a new design, which we received in time for Valentines Day. The issue I am having is that they suddenly leave a irritation ring where the adhesive was. The other packs of this brand did not. I don't know if the adhesive has changed or the material is different. I probably will not order them again, just to be safe.
The adhesive is very sticky too. Great for longer patch times, but hard on her to peel off after her hour. We usually soften it with a warm washcloth and then try to remove gently.

exactly what i expected out of it. my daughter who is now 7 years old, needed to use the patch system in order to strengthen her right eye. she is very active and loves to play hard. this patch has held up, stays on all day without fail. my only "con" is that when removing it may leave a red mark, best to wet the area as you are peeling away the patch. love the fun colors and artwork!

It left a red ring around her eye for a good 10-15 minutes after. We switched to a felt patch after that for comfort.

I bought these for my 5 year old and they work very well. I usually stick them to my jeans twice right before I put one on her so it isn't too sticky. I also use milk of magnesium around the area where the patch is placed to help ease the skin. She loves the designs and makes patch wearing a whole lot more fun. She has also received a lot of compliments. Just wish they also offered the "color your own" ones too! On a side note I'm not sure how well these would fit on someone who had a larger head. These fit just right for my child's small head but there isn't much room after that.

My daughter is really tricky about patches. If she feels that they itch, she will pull them off. She did better with this shape of patch with the cut outs at the nose. I thought these were cute, so I chose them over the Ortopad. These are not as soft or as thick as the Ortopad brand and she is pulling them off. They are nice, just not what works for us.
