I see a lot of people comment about using it to carry groceries, children (even though its not recommended) or bulkier stuff around the house and to/from car.. for that, it does work very nice. It's a very spacious area that can hold a good amount of weight.. but when dealing with hills, stairs or trying to stand it up (when folded) make it much trickier.
For the positive side.. it folds up very compact, folds very easily (a pull string in the center of the wagon.. no weird unlocking/folding required).
The handle is a bit iffy.. it only extends about 16" past the wagon, and can either lock (upright) or release (pull-type). If you're taller, the handle might not extend enough to comfortably pull. There is a locking mechanism on it to lock the length of the extension.
The wheels are big and work fine over different types of ground (sidewalks, dirt, hills).
The wheels, however, are not locked to the handle in the front. This was used as a selling point (you can turn the wheels without having to turn the handle -- great for tight spaces, but not the best when pulling it as it tends to move around a lot when carrying heavy items in the wagon.
The wagon itself folds very compact but weighs about 25LBs.. unfortunately it's hard to store any way but laying-down when packaged (leaning it against anything, because of the wheels, tends to have it fall over).
The cart can be heavy to pull when loaded -- moreso than I was expecting it to. Nowhere near as bad as carrying the items yourself, but it requires some strength.
This leads to problems when pulling it uphills. There are no brakes to lock wheels in place, so if you set it on a hill, it's going to roll down (and fast). With the wagon filled, it speeds down hills, so keep an eye on it.
The other problem is with stairs.. going down stairs is a little easier, but going up was very difficult (with everything inside wanting to fall outside when going up stairs). I wouldn't recommend doing this if possible, and assume doing so can lead to some broken welds that people have discussed in reviews.
I found it to be easier to just lift the entire wagon and take it down the stairs (obviously not the preferred solution!).
A few other things: There are 2 small mesh holders on the front of the wagon (where the handle is).. great for holding a coulple drinks or smaller items.
While they say its only a pull wagon, you can actually push it if you lock the handle in the upright position.. I found this easier to use at times (especially if hauling around more expensive equipment in public areas)
When you have powder white sand like I do here in Sarasota, it's still a drag getting to the waterfront but it is much easier this way.. than any other Wheely thing I've ever used..
Collapses like a dream but only when you want it to! Folds up nicely in your car...
Seems like it's nicely made, I'm happy with this purchase, I saw something similar in Ace Hardware for about $100 and I don't even know if it was as compact.
Here are some tips
If you're like me and you like to sit right next to the water, but all it takes is one wave to come in and get everything you own really wet, you can leave things in the trolley and it's up from the sand..so it will stay much safer
Also you can put a little umbrella over it if you want your cooler to stay cooler
you can bungee cord a regular rain umbrella to the side of this Frame. Great idea huh?
Another plus with that idea is if you are area is subject to sudden rain storms you can bring a poncho even from the dollar store and cover the trolley with it to keep your valuables dry and you can stay on the beach of course( as long as you don't have lightning of course...) if anything I've said has helped you please give me a helpful vote thank you
Update one year later. I haven't used it all that much this year but in the last few weeks my family and I have both used it and we are wondering if we were insane initially. It just does not seem to roll like I read in this review I wrote initially. Are we crazy? We're trying to look at it critically to see if possibly anything has deteriorated or if it's us. It was a real effort tonight to get to the Waterfront has the beach change the quality of the sand? (which is a possibility I realize here) I wish I could be more helpful but unless I find something I can change I would not recommend this for the beach
My dog weighs 25lbs so she fits nice with no stress on the wagon or fabric. The sides are high enough to see over while laying down. And the little side table is great to hold bottles of water for us. This is about the size of the crate I use to have for her - plenty of room to move around and stretch out.
It's a bit bulky for storage. There's a little toggle to pull so that it collapses easily but I don't expect it will fit under anything. Maybe it's 10" wide. It will lay flat in a trunk or stand up in the back seat. If you turn the 2 wheels it will lean against a wall. It has handles to help carry it around and a nice cover. Folded I expect it's like carrying a stroller. It has a telescoping handle that locks into place and you can easily pull forward or push backward.
