This product arrived in two packages, one containing a bucket and the other five one-dozen boxes of baseballs. And yes, all five dozen balls fit in the bucket. There's even room for a few more.

Like many, I've had the experience of using inferior balls. You hit them with a Ruthian clout, and they travel dozens of feet. Not these balls. These fly--perhaps not as far as legitimate Major League balls, but farther than many comparably priced practice balls.

When I first tried these balls out, I was hitting fungo. First, I used seven balls I had purchased at a local dollar store. These balls are not, by any stretch, good. I hit them hard, and the infielders got lots of practice while the outfielders learned to charge in and scoop up line drives. Then I switched to the MacGregor balls. The first one flew over the outfielder's head. Same swing, same contact but different balls, very different results. I highly recommend these balls for practice.

(In case it matters, the balls are clearly labeled as practice balls. Also, I had this product in my Amazon.com shopping cart for several days and saw during that time that the price fluctuated quite a bit. You might want to make sure you're getting a good price.)

Baseballs are in good shape, high quality leather, very good for practice. Beats the pants off the cheaper vinyl balls.

I was a little weary of the quality at first having used poor quality baseballs in the past, but that was put to rest pretty quick with these. They are great baseballs for practice, we use them to start the season in our clinic as the instructors like to work with "pearls" and then they are put into our bucket for BP all season. Only problem we had was players walking off with them they liked them so much. I suggest marking them so that doesn't happen.

I purchased the MacGregor bucket with 5 dozen practice baseballs for my minor league team practices (kids 8-10 yrs old). This product is by far a much greater value than the buckets of practice baseballs offered at my local retailers. These are real leather baseballs and seem to be very well made - holding up great so far after 4-5 practices. The other coaches asked me where I purchased them after they noted the quality, and they were equally impressed when I told them the price. I would expect these baseballs to perform well even for much higher levels of play.

Give the Macgregor bucket with 5 dozen practice baseballs a try and I think you'll be happy you did.

These baseballs are ideal for youth teams - you won't be disappointed. They have leather covers and a bucket. Great value and I've purchased these for several years for two different Little Leagues. Give each manager 2 dozen at the begining of the season and make friends fast.

I bought the first bucket to give to my players as rewards for a good offensive or defensive game. I quickly ordered a second bucket to replace the practice balls we had been using. I've now ordered 3 times and they are all my teams use for practice.

These baseballs are quite good for the price. They are better than the 24 I bought over at a local sports store. However, the only downside is they are made in China. In our bad economy I try to buy to support American companies to keep jobs here, I did not know they were from China, and if I were to do it again I wouldn't buy these, even spending more on something else if necessary. I realize some things you can't avoid, but baseball being born in America just doesn't seem right that the products aren't made here. :( Still I give them a 5 because of the actual value and quality.. although to be fair I've only used them once and can't provide any feedback on the stitching at this time. Should they fall apart quickly I will update this.

These same baseballs are available on this site for $35 per dozen. That's already too much for practice balls. You can get game balls for less than that on most baseball sites. However, in this package you're playing $200 for five dozen balls, which equals $40 per dozen. Sure, you get a bucket... which is a $3 value at any Home Depot. Or, you can go to any building-supply place and usually get one for free. So, here you're paying game-ball price for practice balls and $25 for a plastic bucket. Wow, what a deal...
