This is more a review of the show rather than the collection. There's not much to say about this other than that it's nice to have all five seasons in one solid case. I'm also glad that it was still available in DVD as this format is vanishing for no really good reason.
For anyone who was a fan of the original, the format of the show is much different. The original Angus MacGyver worked mostly solo but had a number of people he could team up with in a pinch. This new MacGyver is part of a team of operatives and this changes the dynamics of the show as a whole. What this means is that Lucas Till's incarnation is very different from that of Richard Dean Anderson and enough so that they can actually be seen as two completely different characters. The one thing linking them is the pocket knife and the ability to turn junk and spare items into whatever is needed on the fly.
The new show is nothing if not exciting. Mac's old pal Jack Dalton is no longer a lovable rogue but rather an ex Marine, X CIA veteran who is Mac's protector and second best friend. Mac's best friend is the new incarnation of Bozer. The shabby recovering addict has been recast as Mac's best and oldest friend and housemate who is a wannabe film-maker. Most of the old names are there but have the characters are very different from their original versions. One easter egg for the fans is that Frog the bulldog makes an appearance in a framed photo on the wall of a diner which figured into several important episodes. Look carefully and you'll find it.
It's hard to believe that much of the production team are veterans of the original series given how different the new series is. Henry Winkler, for example, was an executive producer for both the original and the news series.
As far as seasons go, the first three are the best. The fourth seemed to lose its way, writing-wise, and the fifth was affected by, among other things, Covid.
On the whole, the new series is better than most contemporary shows and is fun to watch. However, it's not the same as the original in any meaningful way. Lucas Till is not Richard Dean Anderson so anyone looking for the more puritanical original MacGyver who didn't drink and was vegetarian, among other things, will be disappointed. Still it could be worse. Hollywood has massacred lots of other reboots of shows or adaptations of books. At least there's something here of the original.

I found that only half the disc’s played. The rest were corrupted and would continuously stop and skip. Ran through a disc cleaner and got the same result. Had to get a refund which the team dealt with efficiently
