I'm not sure if these are too long for my ears or what, I'm having a hard time wearing them securely while blocking out sound - tho I did take a tip from another reviewer and opened my jaw while inserting the ear plugs and that does seem to help. I'm providing a side by side photo of these slim fit next to standard CVS green ear plugs for comparison. Other reviewer photos helped me originally and I want to return the favor

Rather poor quality, but they work

If you're looking for earplugs that are smaller, finding others to be uncomfortable, then these are maybe the choice for you. I always use the medium sized tips for IEM headphones, if that's of any help. I'd actually be gravitating more usually towards the larger size.

If you're looking for earplugs just for sleep, unless you need to block out everything competely and are the lightest sleeper in the world, I don't imagine how these wouldn't be sufficient.

What I mean in terms of quality is that they have random steaks going through the foam in many of them (like somebody scratched them with their nails), and they're practically all poorly cut with remaining pieces of foam hanging off the edges (or occasionally chunks missing).

This could seriously have ended in divorce, but I thought I'd try ear plugs first. I have had to sleep with a fan on at night for decades, and it was an adjustment to not have that white noise in the background, but you do still hear it muffled with earplugs.

I have terrible ear tubes, scarring for infections as a kid, and I knew earplugs would be uncomfortable.
Flents were my first try... OWWIE! They are too square, the edges aren't rounded, and they just hurt. But they DID keep the noise out enough to sleep better in between waking up to the pain. Two weeks later, the pain wasn't worth it.

Next I tried Mack's Ultra Soft Foam Earplugs, the tan ones. Great fit on the right side, SOOOO much softer than Flents. But my left ear was in pain, so I tried Mack's purple SafeSound Slim fit earplugs.... aaahhhhhh, much better. Then I saw Mack's PINK Dreamgirl soft foam earplugs.... I've never been a girly girl, pink just isn't my color. I heard everything! They didn't work at all.

So ideally, I have purple on the left, tan on the right and I don't hear either freight train (for the most part)! And I don't use the fan at night anymore!

Since I started wearing these plugs, my husband sleeps much better. He claims they have diminished the number of times I shake him awake, jiggle his pillow, tap his shoulder, or push him to get him to roll over. Although I haven’t noticed him snoring any less, I have noticed that my ears no longer bleed from irritation, and my mood has drastically improved since I now sleep better, no longer awakened many times a night by the freight train in my bed with me. This man is the kind of snorer that you can hear through the walls, people. These plugs fit nicely and also help me sleep better when our adult kids are home visiting, even when they stay up talking half the night in my nearby living room. When the neighbors mow the lawn at 7 am on Saturday morning, I am oblivious. Fireworks will not wake me, dogs can bark and not disrupt my sleep. The world is a better place with these lovely earplugs. Truly, they are better than sleeping pills. And yet I can still hear my alarm clock while wearing them. I have tried dozens of different kinds of earplugs, from wax to latex to silicone, and these are the perfect plugs for me with my smaller ear canals. Thank you Mack’s! My snoring hubby is grateful for these earplugs, and so am I.

Small diameter ear plugs

I have to an wear earplug all day on my one ear which has tinnitus. Wearing the earplug decreases the sound enough that sounds don’t make my ear drum hurt and the tinnitus louder. I was using a standard earplug but that was too tight and I had to keep taking it out to give the skin a break. This size is smaller and more comfortable. I can keep it in all day with just a couple short breaks. They’re easy to put in. I just roll it so it is more narrow, pull my ear back towards the back of my head, and insert. I hold it in place while it expands. Then it dampens the sound enough to make my ear comfortable. They are great for small ear canals. Since I only use it in one ear, this package of 50 will last me a long time. At first I was concerned about the color and wished for something less conspicuous, but they barely show and maybe if they show a bit, they clue people in to the ear problem so they are more considerate.

Comfortable but not very effective

I bought this item because my ear canals are rather small, so that standard plugs are uncomfortably tight. These "slim fit" plugs are indeed much slimmer than usual, making them relatively easy to insert. They fill my ear canals fully without creating too much pressure, so they're comfortable to wear. Unfortunately they don't block much sound. While the Noise Reduction Rating is only 4 db lower than that of my usual Hearos Xtreme Protection plugs (29 vs 33), the difference seems much greater. Standing in front of an air conditioner running at full blast (for example), the Xtreme plugs yield only a murmur, while the Slim Fits leave the sound clearly audible. Results are similar for impact noise, such as a jackhammer. Slim Fits are much better than using nothing, of course, but they're really not very good. Bottom line: I would recommend Slim Fits only to people whose ear canals are so small that they can't use regular earplugs.

These are awesome! I used to use those cylindrical earplugs (terrible!), then discovered Macks. Macks have been my favorites for years, but I just noticed this "slim fit" version. I took a chance on them, and they are my new hands down favorite. I hadn't even noticed that the regular Macks were too wide for me (since they were so much better than the others I'd tried), but these are a big improvement for me. If your ears are ever even a little bit sore after using earplugs, do yourself a favor and try these.
