Excellent reliable dog leash connector

This was the smallest twistlock carabiner I could find to use to replace an unreliable dog leash snap. It is very well made and easy to use, and, although a little oversize for my needs (hint hint), I am very satisfied with it as an attachment to a (Julius K9 IDC) harness. It would likely be too large for most dog collar attachment rings.

My group of friends and I have amassed a wide variety of different carabiners since we've started climbing, locking and otherwise. This was the first Mad Rock carabiner any of us had exposure to, and I must say I am very impressed. Very high quality feel, good spring action in both directions, and for the price, simply can't beat it. If I could go back and purchase this as my first locker instead of the $34 I dropped on the more well-known brand at REI, I would.

I bought this to hook my dog's leash to, when she goes with me in the car, so she can't get out until I unhook it. One day I had her in the back of my SUV, and when I opened the rear door to get her out, she caught me off guard, jumped out of the car, and was headed for the very busy street. Luckily I was able to get a grip on the leash and pull her back. Now I don't have to worry about that happening ever again!

I have a really bad habit of losing my keys and the fact that the store bought carabiners constantly break do not help at all. Ive already lost one set of car keys somewhere and well car keys and not cheap to replace. I bought this Mad Rock Carabiner just for the durability, security and frankly the extra peace of mind that I would hopefully not lose my keys again do to having a cheap carabiner

I recently bought this because the crappy little carabiner I have on my keychain broke and I'm tired of them breaking so I decided to get one that's real. It's pretty big but seems well built. It probably won't last very long as a keychain since I'm leaning more towards few and smaller items on me for my everyday carry. However, it'll probably find it's way in my survival/ hiking bags and will be great for climbing if I pick it up again.

As good as it gets with the twist lock design

The twist lock mechanism makes it easy to use one hand and open the latch and then clip on the carabiner and release the twist lock mechanism and to do so in seconds. Far superior to the ones that require screwing a sleeve to lock the biner.

Over 5,500 lb. breaking strength which is also impressive for a very light weight carabiner.

Great fit and finish.

Only possible caveat is I do not know whether the twist lock mechanism can handle dirt or grit without problems.

I have a horse trailer and I have a lead rope connector that wouldn't fit on my trailer. I bought this for my other thing to connect to. It appears to be good quality, but I should hopefully never know if it's "life saving" quality.

It's light, and the closure appears to be good.
