The game is in great condition. The only thing I did not like was that when I received the game the disc was not connected to the case. The disc was dancing and shaking around in its case. Perhaps it was not the sellers fault... But that was only one tweak I did not like. Other than that the game is amazing! And in great condition!

This is my favorite Madden update in years. Despite the trend towards Madden Ultimate Team and neglect over player/franchise mode, this game feels largely revitalized due to the changes to the Wide Receiver mechanics. The options to chose the type of catch (and throw - high/low) adds depth that I never expected this franchise to reach. Player matchups are more important than ever and options for team building are expanded as a result.

Additionally, the new scouting mechanic is a lot of fun and adds a real-life risk to draft picks that previous incarnations did not have. You only can see the top 3 characteristics for player - everything else is a mystery until you see combine results in the offseason. It is hard to truly know exactly how good a player could be - which I find great and engaging unlike other games where you could figure out the system, making scouting and drafting a chore.

The final major change was with player experience. Most players don't get a ton of EXP in practice or even in games which makes drafting and free agency all the more important.

Otherwise, not a lot changed from prior incarnations. If you like the Madden Franchise, you know what you're getting.

This isn't a great game. It's a good game but in a lot of ways, it's better than what we have now, which says a LOT about how bad things have gotten. I maintain to this day that from 25 (which was 14, but whatever) to 17, they had a nice window that they never built on to take Madden to where it should be now. Instead, they took stuff off bit by bit and by the time 18 dropped, we got the Frostbite Engine which has all but crushed this game.

16 is the last game to have Nantz and Simms on the call, who were light years better than Gaudin and Davis who have been it since 17. Franchise was okay, they introduced a new scouting system which was better than 15, but there was still so much more that could've been done with it. Gameplay was alright, but it had its issues. Calling zone was a real crap shoot and usually never going your way. Your defenders almost never stuck with the receivers while the CPU defenders are on you like glue. Ratings sorta kinda mattered, as this was before they went full on arcade cause they stopped trying to figure out how to make star players look the part. I think 16 is my favorite Madden on the PS4 ahead of 25.

I have only had the guy a few days and it seems like its the "Year of the Catch" cause it seems EVERYONE can make an aggressive catch (pressing triangle). I was playing franchise mode (more on that later) and Brock Osweiler had 430 yards and 3 Tds all in the first half. This is playing on Madden level. Just seems way more easy to make a catch now.

I do like how you can change your depth chart without going into that menu.

I don't like Kubiak as a coach so i fired him before the season started. He was only level 8 i think. I only had 3.76 million in funds to get a coach. The one i wanted had a tag of 6.6 million. The lowest was Kubak who i fired at 4 million. I exited and the game said i needed a coach if i didnt choose one (i couldn't) one would be assigned. I said okay and i was "awarded" the 6.6 million coach and it cost me nothing. So that is a win.

When setting up my franchise. I tried to do a fantasy draft which are always fun as i tend to get young players on rookie deals and young players already locked up long term. This is horrible how they have it set up. You cant sort the columns. You cant pick where you draft it is automatic (or maybe its based on last seasons result; i dont know as i didnt look very closely) I was drafting around 26th as the Broncos. There were some 96 players there then a 85 player then some 93. I could not sort them in order. Sort by speed. Sort by anything. If thats the case the only way to do this is what i usually do is a random draft and make not on where players get drafted. Then i can draft my super team if i choose to do so. lol.

I got this game due to a screw up and it was a 1/4 of the cost else i would be disappointed i got it. I just wish NFL games were open to other companies. Seems EA is afraid of some competition.

if you like football and want the new rookies then im sure you will get the game. .Just wait till black friday when its 50%.

This is the best madden to date, and I have played every madden since 1998. I really enjoy the new wide receiver catch buttons. The new buttons allow you to have more control over your wide receiver. The fantasy draft mode is also a great new feature. You can quickly draft 15 players to add to a fantasy team to play either online or offline. I wish the offline feature of this allowed you to play more than 3 games though. The graphics are the best of any madden to date, and it has more of the actual tv presentation feel.
