This is one of the best books ever written on the subject of Jewish marriage. I can't recommend it enough! I think that anyone getting married, already married or considering marriage needs this book...Classic!

I got this book because I was planning on having a Jewish wedding ceremony and I actually got a lot of different books on the subject because I didn't know a whole lot about Jewish weddings. What a blessing this book was! Made in Heaven really went beyond all the "you do this and then do this" business and got to the heart of the matter and the spirituality and sanctity of marriage.

Everything that Aryeh Kaplan has written is filled with love for the Jewish tradition. It is all filled with great understanding and feeling , and provides the reader a means to connect more personally with Jewish practice.

I originally purchased this book when I was newly engaged, and found it to be such a wonderful guide in helping me to truly understand the significance of a Jewish wedding, and all the details therein.

Since that time, I've bought many copies of this book as gifts for newly engaged couples. Just today I reread it for the umpteenth time to see if if would be appropropriate for a non-Orthodox couple who wanted a book about marriage. After having checked out many others, I will again present this one. Every other book I examined couldn't come anywhere near the warmth that this one projects. It will make it very clear to any Jewish couple, religious or not, how their wedding day is a not just a party to share this milestone in their life, but rather a very holy act that can elevate their entire life together.

I'm the only one, it seems, who didn't love this book. I found the chapter on "love" to be superfluous, as I'm already engaged (and most people buying this book would be too, likely) and I found there was little distinction between halacha (law) and minhaag (custom), which is what i was looking for.

It's certainly descriptive.

This is a must-read for every Jew. So informative and educational, while explaining the beauty of a Jewish marriage. He makes every part of the process so meaningful. I could not put this book down. I want to read it again and again.

This is a great starting place for anyone looking to plan a Jewish wedding - it's a good resource for learning a bit about the history of different customs, as well as the religious traditions and requirements, whether or not you intend to follow them to the letter.
