BUT...the biggest problem I had is that the Hero is an ass!! He insults the heroine and treats her like crap through most of the book!! And what little bits her brother is mentioned, he treats her just as bad! He doesn't stand up for her when others put her down, he joined in with the bashing! Her barely there best friend wasn't much better! The h was like a whipped puppy and kept going back for more! Sorry, but this reminded of too many of the stories on Dr. Phil about abuse! I sure do hope that the rest of this author's heroines are given a backbone and not doormats!! I'm not a fan!
About the book, Andy Archer has always had a thing for Logan Grant, her brother’s best friend. But Logan never felt the same. He’d always just seen her as his best friends little sister. Andy was just Andy and never gave her looks much thought or how she dressed any significance. Logan is a professional baseball player – he’s sweet and considerate – handsome and a tad cocky, but not in a bad way. Logan mistakenly hurt his best friend and in the process his career, so he felt like he could try to make up for things by helping Andy. Andy is now a sports agent and that’s how the two meet up again. Andy never really paid much attention to her looks, but Logan overheard people talking about her appearance in comparison to other women and he felt bad for her. He thought that her changing up her look would help her in her career and he wanted to help her in any way he could. But of course, he started to notice things about her that he never noticed before and that change sparked some pretty hot action.
Overall, this is a very quick read. It was nicely written, there wasn’t a cliff-hanger and I like the story line.
Why this gal wants to be his special girl is a little hard to understand. He doesn't hesitate to put her down or make fun of her. But due to a weird set of circumstances, he decides to give her a make-over and help her get further in her professional career as a sports agent. She fights him but still wants to be with him knowing she is not the type of girl that he goes for. In the process of the make-over he discovers that she is really one very sexy gal and she now hss his attention.
But, life sets in and separates them. this story is how they come together and he turns out to be not so bad after all. There is a bit of drama and heart break but it is a fun, entertaining story and I would definitely recommend it. There is a bit of sex involved so if that offends you then you might better pass this one up or at least skip over the pages in the stadium!!
I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
