The raw is definitely better than the light or amber in flavor, though all are good. This tastes similar to the amber, but just better. We use it mostly in oatmeal. Can also work in plain black tea and coffee if you don't need a lot of sweet. (It does have a flavor, so if you like your tea and coffee real sweet, you might want to try the light instead. Although I happen to like this flavor in things, it is not neutral, and so it isn't good in everything--for instance, I don't like it in peach tea as it does not compliment peach well in my opinion.) Another thing I've done with this is to mix it 2 parts to one part pure maple syrup and use as pancake syrup. You still get lots of maple flavor (pure maple syrup all on its own is a bit much for me), but it lowers the overall GI. I've only tried a few brands, but Madhava, on their website, claims a GI of 17, which is lower than others I've tried. So if a low GI is priority for you, give this one a try. This size container is the best deal as far as amount of agave for your money. We keep a smaller bottle around and just refill it from this larger bottle. And, yes, as another reviewer notes, this is 46 ounces in weight, not fluid ounces, so I'd say it's a little under 4 cups. This is great agave.

I have been using agave nectar as a substitute for sugar and, my goodness, I LOVE IT! This also goes great to replace syrup for pancakes :)

This comes with 3 46 oz containers of agave. It's enough for a whole lot of baking and weekly use for pancakes. You can taste the difference between agave and traditional syrup, but it's not a foul difference. I actually prefer agave now.

Additionally you need 3/4 cup of agave to equal 1 cup of regular sugar -- because the nectar is so naturally sweet. It's a good deal!

I use agave nectar for most, if not all, of my baking needs. Once baked w/ flour and eggs and all that, my baked goods (like my banana bread) actually tastes even sweeter than I think it would if I used regular sugar.

Delicious in tea! Love it! I've been using it for years. Its better tasting than honey and can replace sugar in any situation. It is thin and light, unlike honey or molasses. It dissolves easily. We've been ordering Madhava Agave for a couple years now. Its the best buy for the price and quality from anywhere else we've compared. I can't say enough good things about this product. Easy to pour, very little required to sweeten the deal. I find that amazon has the best price. I use a little bit of it everyday in my tea. Mmmm mmm yummy!

This is a great price for the pack of 2 and I have ordered a few times and will continue to, as long as they keep this price the way it is and I have a Prime membership. It tastes great and is just the same as the kind you get in the store (not a knock-off or anything like that). I use it for all kinds of things, in homemade thai chai spiced tea concentrate, in tea, in place of honey in any recipe when honey is running low. I like that it is raw. The benefits of Agave are debatable but I like the flavor and this price is affordable compared to locally grown raw honey. Happy customer. Plus they ship super fast!

I love light agave. I've been using it for years. I usually use it half and half with stevia/erythritol, because it masks the sugar substitute aftertaste most natural no-calorie sweeteners leave behind. This is also a good way to wean yourself off high glycemic sugars without sacrificing flavor. It does not really taste like honey. Or if it does, it is a very mild similarity. I find It is a little more like sugar (corn) syrup (karo, I think it's called). But agave is low glycemic so it won't spike your blood sugar like regular sugars, including honey, even though it technically has "sugars" in it. If you like the light agave, you'll probably like Madhava's flavored varieties as well. But if you have GERD or need to watch out for acid, make sure you read the labels, as some of the flavored agave syrups contain citric acid. The maple and amaretto do not. But I believe the blueberry and raspberry do. Agave and honey are both okay (in moderation) for GERD or other acid condition related diets, according to the book "Dropping Acid." But agave is better than honey as a sweetener because of its low glycemic impact on blood sugar. Personally, I like to buy good local honey and use it where I can taste it, on bread, pancakes, etc. I like agave for tea, teeccino and other low/no acid beverages and for baking, whenever sugar is called for in a recipe. Again, I use it half and half with stevia/erythritol. Erythritol is another natural no calorie sweetener. It is often added to stevia or monk fruit to balance out the flavors of these sweeteners. Unlike other no calorie natural sweeteners, like malitol, for instance, erythritol is easy on the digestive tract and should not cause any noticeable discomfort. Erythritol may be helpful for parents of children with diabetes, in particular, who still want chocolate and other sweets, but suffer from the side effects of most packaged sugar free foods. Whether you can cut it with this light agave is something to ask your doctor about. It depends on how much glycemic impact it will have on each individual. As far as I know, agave has been called "safe" for diabetics, but I believe it is something that needs to be monitored by the individual as it is technically a sugar.

Diabetics dream, IMO; and take it from one with over 15 years of management near 7.0 a1c consistently! Low on the glycemic index, as delicious as honey, (cheaper than that in bulk by a good measure), and dissolves well in cold fluids better than that. too! Flavor-wise, stevia sucks by comparison, believe me! Liked it so much I immediately ordered 12 additional pounds, and you might too, diabetic or not!
