"Up to 90% of individuals struggling with healing from addictions and chronic diseases need to realize that the cause of their issues is primarily related to mind-body interactions. She was a severe alcohol addict, deeply depressed, searched for love where it did not exist and in which she became even more fearful and more depressed. . Of course, it was more than the 3 minute meditations that healed her. She joined AA, found supportive women who encouraged her in a kind, motherly way. She went to meetings often, followed the steps and writing this book contributed more to her healing and to her happiness. I remember how she . sat with the others in my living room, doing our free-flow writing from the imaginative prompts I provided and reading the writing she had done at home. . We were so inspired to know how she had risen from such a dark place and thus, reminding us that anyone feeling lost can heal if they are determined to do so. And we were enchanted by Dina, who is lively, cheerful, articulate, and who was willing to "get it all out" to help herself and others.
I recommend her book to anyone who needs a boost of self confidence (whether you are an addict or not) Self confidence, determination and reaching out. Dina did all of those plus meditation, and found a captive audience Her book is read by thousands. Also, she is a life coach, speaks at writing conferences, has been interviewed on the radio as well as interviewing others.. To Dina, I say, congratulations and to al of you who have yet to read her book, be prepared to be inspired to your perfect health.
It has been so rewarding to see her heal and shine; to have supported her creative process. 17 other students of mine have published books and many, whether they have written books or not, have transformed in so many ways. I am so fortunate to witness this movement in my students. This is one of the reasons I teach. It is so rewarding.
I was absolutely astounded in the first few pages. Dina comes across as a perfect, perky, sweet beautiful woman. I had NO IDEA that she has led the hard, painful life she has led and the "perfect" woman I now know her is her transformed, new self.
Dina, like many of us, get trapped by addictions. For her it was alcohol, for me it is food. I was able to immediately relate to her and her battle with her own mind. Gosh, we can come across like we have it all together, but inside it's easy to be living in our own battlefield.
This book is REAL, a real journey told by a real person who has been there. Not just been there, she suffered there then had incredible insight and found practices to lead her out of the pain. They aren't even hard practices. 3 minutes, 3 times a day? I can certainly do that.
Dina, I acknowledge you, for giving everything you had writing Madly Chasing Peace. As readers we need to hear to the truth and hear the pain so we know it is possible to rise above whatever limitations or challenges we face.
No matter who you are and what walk of life you come from, you'll find Madly Chasing Peace an inspiration. You'll also be given a simple tool that, when practiced, can add so much depth and happiness to your own life.
Thank you Dina!
