A MADNESS IN SPRING was originally published in the multi-author anthology tilted "A Gentleman For All Seasons" so if it sounds sort of familiar, you may have already read it there. Although relatively short even for a novella (it ended at 90% and location 1190 of 1318 on my kindle device) it was fast paced, witty, and just plain fun to read. Belinda took a while to grow on me but I ended up getting a better understanding of her as the story progressed, and Adam didn't take long to steal my heart. And though I'm typically not a fan of romances where enemies turn into lovers, this one had enough charming qualities and humor to have me overlooking that fact.
I only have two issues with it, and the first would be that the romance took a while to get off the ground. The second has to do with the editing and the many typos I noticed. At a guess I'd say there were around two dozen or so, which is just too many for this short a story. Overall it was a sweet and funny little historical romance that I enjoyed though, and one that left me with a big smile on my face when it ended =)

We do get HEA and no cliffhanger, but there isn't suspense or real drama. Just a nice sweet story about a misunderstanding when they were young that carried over for 15 years. It took friends to put an idea of love in their hearts and that is really what this story is about. A quick read that will leave you with a smile on your face. (ljb)
